Manufacturer Control Fuel Air Metering?

Hey guys! I did some research but seems like the only way to get ridd of this P1187 code is to reset the PCM or get Stage 1 (04). But does it mean that I'm runing too rich? I know thats not harmful but it makes my tips black.
