Loosing boost

I have a question for anyone who can help. My buddy and I were at the strip last night and he was having some trouble with his SRT when he would dump the clutch to take off it would boost up then fall on its face and have nothing not even any throttle let off it and wait a split second then boost but not much then same thing over but sometimes boost like it should what could be the problem? Any help would help us out Thank YOu
