Is 5015636AB a valid # ? This should be the number for the locking gas cap keyed to the ignition lock, got while doing a forums search for parts, look under "unofficial parts list" and it should come up.

I found the one that uses a seperate key also, 05278655AB; is this one any good?

05278655AB is the part number they list for the 2005 neon for locking gas cap. It's not the ignition keyed unit though. $12.50 + shipping for that one. IT comes w/ 2 keys.

05015636AB is the ignition keyed one. While I have not keyed one for a neon/srt4 before, I don't see any issue in getting that done. $38.80 for that one... plus the cost to get it keyed (if any.)

Not in stock, but the local depot has them so I can send them out within a week very easily.

I don't have a phone number for orders, but you can email me the info you can share, and I can have Becky give you a call for any addl. information.

Thanks for looking into this for me James. US Priority Mail is around $6, so I'm not too concered about shipping costs. I want the one keyed to the ignition, which may just be a little easier to have one of my local dealers handle that way I'm not messing around with key codes/ VIN#'s or arranging to have a key sent to you. Also, I would need to provide you w/ some DCX employee #'s (Grandpa is retired DCX) if I decide to order from you. I will let you know once I get a chance to do some more leg work on my end.

Let me know. I can handle whichever we you decide... the trick would be the fact that I'd probably have to cut a key to make sure it works, etc.

I recommend getting the ignition version.

I've had the other version that comes with two keys, the key quality is absolutely horrible and I broke one of them last year in the winter. I'm eventually going to switch to the ignition key version.

the reason i want the ignition keyed one is that way the car only has ONE key for everything and i'm not F'ed in the A if anything happens.

Local dealer has 2 on the self so I think I'll just let them handle it. For future reference it's an additional $10 to have it keyed. I wouldn't want to put you through any addition expense/ headache to have a keyed made just for this. I suppose if I had to order a good amount of stuff I would go a head and let you handle it. I don't think the small profit (if any) from dealing with me would justify your work and your time put into it at your end. It's just not fair to you.

However, I think this thread has proved one thing.......there is an interest in locking gas caps and I thnk you'll be seeing a lot more requests for these once gas sky rockets this summer.

I can sure key it myself, so we probably won't have the addl. $10 although since it's a bit of a PITA, I can see where they would charge the extra $10. I'd probably have to charge an extra $6 just to get the addl. key made to test and key it. I may want to at least stock the non-ignition ones and add them to my website... but I think you're right, the addl. time and energy to key them may not be worth the time/effort on my end. Unless they're $75... :readclose

Doesn't look like there's a key-hole at all! Where does the key go?

That's the glare. It actually works very well. The non-keyed ones are nice, but these are much nicer.

I definitely need to get one of these. So is that the price for the ignition keyed one (first page), or is there a fee attached to it?

(it kind of depends. I dont' have the resources to key it myself, so we'd have to let one of the dealers do it. You could spend a little more and get it @ steffys already keyed.
