It was very easy to install! Took about 1 hour. Mounting the bov with the C clip was the hardest part( didn't have the right tool) it took like 20 mins. I'm very happy with it! Sounds great. Not as loud as I thought it would be though. Does anyone know if it can be modified to be louder, I've heard there is a way to do it, I just want to find out how! I mounted it facing up towards the engine, it souded louder that way then when I mounted it facing the ground. Anyways its great people stair!! psshhh!!

It sound great!! The sound bounces off buildings!! Its loud! I don't have a camera so I can't really get pics. Its worth it though everyone with a srt-4 should get this mod!! Every ricer just stairs with their jaw open!!! When not making boost its loud when making boost its crazy loud ppssshhhh!!! My friend has the turbo XS on his WRX and its almost as loud as his bov, he said to get the HKS though over the turbo XS bov he says the turbo XS is not very good quality, so I called a bunch of local shops they all said go with the HKS SS bov, they also said that there is a way to make it louder(modification) They told me if I looked it up on the internet I'd find it. I don't know if I really want it any louder though... Its loud enough for me! I think!! lol

Thats it!! I just have the BOV going in the other direction. It blows out toward the engine instead of blowing toward the ground. That way I can adjust it really easy without jacking the car up. I called atp they said it dosn't matter wich way I have the bov facing, I think its louder facing up although I could just be crazy! It sounds great everyone should get one!!

ryansrt, which tool is it that you are talking about... cuz mine should be here within a week or so, and i'm thinking that i might not have that tool (whatever it is) in my toolbox.... so ya know it would probably be a good idea for me to go out and buy it before my UPP/BOV gets here and i try to install it without the right tool. thanks.

snap ring tool. it needs to be able to open about 1.5 inches?

You need a snap ring plier set( its like a pair of needle nose pliers with two little taps at the ends on an angle) so you can close the C- clip most auto parts stores will have them in stock! It was a bitch! I filed down my needle nose pliers because the auto store was closed when I installed it. With the right tool it shouldn't take more than five mins to mount the bov to the flange, then all you do is screw it on!

How come in your original post you make it seem like the loudness is actually pretty mellow yet in your next post you seem like it's ear piercing loud..

Neonwasp who also installed one said it's barely audible if you have the radio on.. Now you guys are confusing me.. Just how loud is this thing from the inside and how loud is it from outside?

We need new sound clips cause the clips that NeonWasp has makes it sound like a little kid's whistle toy.

it doesnt do that real loud whistle thing like it was doing originally. now it sounds more like what everyone expects them to sound like...

i've tried recording the sound with my md recorder but i just dont have a mic that can take the exhaust without overdriving the mic. if i had a way to record it i would.

It is loud, you can hear it really good, I just thought it would be even louder but I like really really loud stuff. To most people its probably pretty loud. Trust me you will love it. You can hear it over the exhaust!!
