Is this what the SRT-4 needs for an aftermarket BOV?

my sister just bought an srt-4 and my first impression are WOW! i can't wait till she breaks it in to see what this thing can do. well back to my question. She wants to get an aftermarket BOV. i was looking around the site and this is what i came up with.

she needs the following right?
1) Up-pipe(ATP)
2) aftermarket BOV(HKS SSBOV)
3) stock BOV blocker(AGP)

does these three work together or am i missing something. she wouldn't need that AGP WG actuator too would she. The AGP WG actuator is just a stronger version of the OEM version right. Only needed for upping boost right? Sorry for my lack of turbo knowledge but you got to start somewhere.

thanks

Welcome to the board Banshee!! Yea, that looks about right. The only thing I see that she doesn't need is the BOV blocker if she plans on staying on stock boost. The ATP kit comes with a valve to block the stock BOV. If she plans on running a higher boost witha MBC or EBC, then definitely get the BOV blocker and look into the AGP actuator. (it allows you to hold boost til redline)
Will the AGP WG actuator increase boost at all? Is it just to keep boost through rpms? Will it affect low rpm power at all? I wanted her to wait some time before she goes upping her boast and blowing something. We must learn more about turbo before doing something like that :) I wanted her to get the blocker because I read somewhere it is more guaranteed not to leak compared to what the ATP up-pipe gives you.

Thanks for the quick reply
Yes it does provide no leaking, but the stock psi is about 12. The wastegate will not give you more boost. The wastegate on this car starts to open at 4psi. wastegates expell exhaust gases and the BOV releases pressure. If you want more boost, you need a boost controller.

I would say let her boost around at stock psi and then when she is used to car and wants more, give it some more juice with a boost controller!!

Right now as the car sits, its pushin about 220whp and 245wt. Once you add a boost controller,it will be pushin around 260whp and 295wt. These numbers are all approximate and I'm just providing them so you get an idea of the cars potential.
so if she get the up-pipe, HKS BOV, Stock BOV Blocker, AGP WG actuator , and lets say ATP's Downpipe with Cat an AEM Cold Air Intake will she have to worry about leaning out? so boost will stay at 12 right. These mod will keep 12 to redline(well the first 4) then the last 2 should add around 10-20whp being this car is a turbo car. it should be 260 to the wheels maybe? what you think. And also what is the safeest the car can be boosted to before it leans out at redline? 14.5 or 15psi? seen post that with BOV and the upgraded Wastegate the car got 286whp i think can i SAY HOLY CRAP!!! man dodge did something right!!

thanks
Hey Lord, It me LovinDaCamSwitch. So already your sis want more power. hehe!! Don't we all do on this board. My goal is to get 300hp and that's it. I should be happy for a little while and then later in future I want more. hehe!!

Hey Lord,

How come your sis don't speak for her badass self? We could always use more girls here.

The only thing I would question is the AEM CAI. I know it looks cool, but I'm not sure it would add to the performance of this engine.

hey didn't know you were on here too :) lol

i be happy with 220 to the wheel with my celica :) i should be in 13's with a good run :) but anyway i need to stop dreaming because i don't have 3500 for a turbo kit.

Hey drolander,
why wouldn't a CAI help with performance. I have never heard of a CAI not helping?
Nice graphics in your sigs, both of you. :)

There's been some debate about CAI's on this car, because a) the car already gets cool air from the wheel well, it's not pulling it from the engine compartment, and b) the turbo is going to heat up the air anyway. But I'm still interested in seeing some dyno charts showing what gains are to be gotten from the AEM CAI on this car, if any.
i see what you mean know about CAI almost being pointless. but i also want to see the dyno's also. Guess what also...... Injen's SRT-4 Cold Air Intake be out Next month. I e-mail them. so we will see. hey if anything getting the Injen give you some chrome pipeing for people looking for dressing up the engine bay. I can not see it hurting performance at all thou.

p.s. thanks about the sigs. i like them too :). If my sister get some better pics of her car i'll make a better one for her hehe
