Sorry guys I raced to get this on here I didn't have time to make it smaller or anything. It's raw and unedited.

The video is of me following Hemidakota's SRT-4 on the freeway for a little bit (friend is filming) followed by a real ubrupt cut to the Autosalon focusing in on an SRT-4 with a wings west body kit and custom interior. You can't really tell from the video but it's a carbon fiber wing, carbon fiber interior pieces. It looks a LOT better in person than in the video.

Hemidakota and I met BJ there too, he was a really cool guy. I didn't get him in the video unfortunately.

I spoke with a guy from Mosby Dodge in San Bernadino. I spoke with him about the upgrades and was a little set back. He stated that any mopar parts installed by the dealer would still void the warranty. I would like to hear from BJ on this because that was a major point for me buying the car and I won't put any mobs on the car if it will kill the 7/70.

Guys, we actually asked BJ and a few other guys there at the Mopar booth the official stance on the warranty.

So far from what I have gathered is.. don't count on it due to very valid understandable reasons.

1. For them to make it warrantied then that means that they have to spend extra $$ and time on making them carb legal. Which tacks on another LONG drawn out process.

2. The car was engineered for the way it is presented to us. They can't warranty something that will add a lot more hp & torque then say oh we can guarantee you won't have ANY problems with it.

3. They are marketing each of the stages as Off-Road use only. Good luck on smog inspections.

If you want a quality product from the people that actually put blood, sweat and tears into engineering the car and know it better than anyone else, buy Mopar. If you don't give a hoot, go aftermarket. If anything at least check out the LSD that Mopar has coming up. Should be a night/day difference.

That's fine, but BJ has been saying the exact OPPOSITE. He has been swearing up and down on this forum that this will not void the warranty. Now I understand that things change, but now I have a real dilema as to if I want to void the whole damn thing.

This may sound stupid, but that "fact" that Mopar was going to have upgrade kits available that would not void the warranty was a big part of the sale in my mind. Even the dealer said that same thing. So now I have either have to keep it stock, or risk my entire investment on mods.

Thanks Dodge

The thing is Paul.. What I heard is "unofficial" it could very well be that they decide to say Yes, this will be warrantied if installed by the dealership. I never got a clear yes or no. I have ASSUMED from their speculation so my word is by no means law.

My understanding of warranties is if that aftermarket modification caused the problem with whatever happens that will be voided....So if it is directly related then it is voided otherwise they have to cover under some court case someone help me out....

I don't remember BJ ever making that claim. Do you think you can find a post to reference?

Nice vid! I wish it was longer. How about a 30 minute program?

Was that a carbon fiber dash on the tuner car? If so, that was cool. I don't know why anyone would take out the stock seats for Sparco's. The stock seats are excellent. Maybe weight? The pillar pod was cool. I liked the steering wheel, but I wouldn't want to lose the driver's air bag. Outside, I liked the front faschia, but not the front fenders. I did not like the rear wing at all.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts. Post more if you can.

Thanks,
Dan

I don't rmember him making that claim also.....

Deallers aren't going to warrenty ANY aftrmarket stuff if it says MOPAR or not I've already talked to about 10 Service managers all around the puget sound and they all say the same thing...

"If the part that gets installed causes something to fail directly or indirectly it will not be covered" lots of room on there part not to cover stuff.....

THE dude @ gulf coast dodge in ft myers that actually drove the jont against the boxer, etc said that the stage ii would be under manuf warranty. i now fully believe that that's bullshit after reading the warranty. when i've got the strength, i'll quote the jont. it really pisses me off that somehow DC would infer that they'd cover shit, implicitly pass it on to local dealers, and have lawyers say, "syke!" (do people still say "syke"?). apart from being best "bang for the buck", the mopar/dc warranty thing was another big plus. it's all i bragged about. but as this is my first spanking new car, i have lots to learn....

don't take it back

"Hey Mike...

I understand some of the confusion especially on the dealer level regarding warranties. We have a huge challenge in front of us in communicating to the dealers exactly what and what doesn't void warranties.

Just to let you know, the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Turbo upgrades do not void the warranty. From the dealer's perspective, I can understand why they would tell you that. The only items that "void warranties" are the products that are determined to be the reason why a component failed. If you are 100% sure that a warranty claim is NOT the result of an aftermarket product you had installed, you need not worry about the warranty being voided.

Of course, if someone is using a boost controller and overboosts the car, the boost controller will be the ultimate reason why the warranty was voided.

Mopar will soon have a section on their website regarding this very issue in detail..."

you can find this post by BJ here:

but i still think they wont be warrantied.
