Can you buy a decent intercooler for under $300?? If so how much hp would you gain from it?? Thanks!

there have been 2 threads started on this in the last month. no body has dyno proven gains for proof. most people will say they cant compare to some of the big brands like agp, etc. but dan made his runs using a ebay fmic. i also run the xo2 racing intercooler and i like it, i noticed a small gain, nothing spectacular. but it will help down the road for the future upgrades to come. btw i spent $250ish on mine.
If anything, it will help with heatsoak at the track. Also, the stocker runs out at 350whp or so....
I got a brand new agp direct fit intercooler for 400 and it defintely helped out. I gained 3mph and dropped .4 in the 1/4

holy shitt.. I heard they will only help you gain about 5 hp. This true?
Slow_spool where di you get yours?? You should send me some pic of it on your car.
Some gains as high as 15hp-20hp have been seen. Depends on your mods. I know for sure it helped out my car...
Jeez jay, at least let your back heal and get over that crap before you start with the every fuckin question about every part shit again. I feel like we answer the same shit over and over again.

your alwayysss bitching arnt you...

So with a stage 1 and a wastegate am i not goin to see to much of a power gain?
On those mods I don't think it's a question of how much you will gain, rather than how much you won't lose
You'll see gains with an intercooler no matter if you're stock or big turbo. Intercooler just holds a "charge" of cooler air that is pushed into the system under boost. This helps compression and HP is the result. There's a guy out here in cali selling an AGP for a reasonable price. .ebluetortuga..also I see there's a Perrin FMIC for super super cheap in the buy sell..i'd jump on that so fast.

15 - 18 hp, my guess. I am not always bitching, go back and look at your last 20 threads.
On PCM controlled boost, you will notice your boost level go down, due to the cooler air, making the same amount of power. (my boost levels dropped 3-4 PSI) But if your able to re-raise the boost level back up to where it was before the FMIC, you will see the gains then.
i got mine off of ebay, i think that the seller has their own website also try
xo2racing.com

why would i lose power? Is this true??
I dont really wanna pay $300 and lose power. Some of you are saying 15-20 hp and this guy is saying i will lose power???
It will take some adjustment on you wga, some tuning on your mapclamp so the pcm wont see the boost. You will be able to get the boost back where you had it as long as its not too high. 15-18 hp has always been the average gain I have read.
