No I haven't mailed them yet. I've still got a few months before I am out of Iraq and my buddy keeps changing his mind as to where he'll find a car so I don't want to mail them until I get a few more details ironed out.

If you do get a response, please let us know what kind of numbers they are talking about.

Ok i have had a mail from TGAL with a quote last friday. I was shocked from the price it was almost 1000 dollars more expensive then i thougt......

TGAL came with $2,025.00 for a PORT TO PORT: shipping, but there is no way to find someone that pics op the car from Raton on a trailer, to bring it over to Houston to ship it

So we needed a DOOR TO DESTINATION PORT shipping they came up with $2,925.00 for everything excluded destination taxes and insurance.....

So i went al nuts about the 3000 peanuts and called about 20 shippers here in Holland, came up with a shipping company that even had some dutch people overseas in CALI. I called them and i have a fixed price at the moment for shipping from Raton to Rotterdam Port for only 2010 $$$$.... great!!!

So shipping is arranged.
We are now only concerning about the lien release, if that is taken care of nothing stands in the way to ship it in 2 weeks, and it will be over here in Holland in about 7 weeks.

If anyone needs the telephone number of the shipping company i'll hear it!
I will get u more on this story shortly ;)

Sorry that the shipping prices by TGAL were so outrages! normally they have really good shipping prices, even with door to door shipping with a car that size it shouldn't be over $2200! my dad is trying to find out why they are so overprize right now but good to know you found a shipping company that will ship the car for that prize

Does'nt matter xxNeonxx, u helped me on the way atleast... Thing is with shipping that car is 900 miles away from any Harbour right in the middle of the country :D

But all is sorted out now!

no concerns about the lien releasy anymore it got already payed in March this year!
So i payed the rest of the money for the car today and as soon as the new frontbumper (for replacing the wrecked one) arrives the car will be trailered to Houston and from there on the boat to Port Rotterdam!

Hope it is here in about 7 weeks so i can begin the repairs.............keep you posted ;)

Here's a pic of our fully loaded srt-4

we'll report here again as soon as it hits dutch harbour ;)

I'll be back by Dec 1. If you need any help re-assembling the car this winter let me know. I'm sure I could use the excuse to travel ;)

What company did you end up going with for shipping? And the fact that they let you ship the car with parts in it is very..... tantalizing to say the least :D

That sounds great Marakka! Im sure we can definately use some help from people who know more about the srt!!! i'm sure we'll end up with problems on the mechanical side......

On the transport, yes the parts in the car was a very nice deal.... if not it would have atleast added up 500$ for extra transport! The company we used is called; "Atlantic Bridge" and is runned by a couple of Dutch people located in Cali....

That sounds like a plan guys.....!!! We'll have to look over if we need any more parts if it's here.... we already have alot :eveilgrin
But i already know we need a "side-skirt left-frontdoor panel" (the one "glued" on the door) for the repair but that's only cosmetic and no hurry ;)

I think it's @ the body shop in december then and that's near to our vacation house in southern Holland..... so that's a great place to sleep with us 4 (i think my brother will be there 2)
we're thinking the first step will be to get the engine out to straighten the frame rails on the right side and replace the left side....
But well have to see if i bring it to a friend of mine, or get it to that body shop i talked about and let them do all the work on getting the motor out and straigten/replace the frame rails.......

What do u think guys, that friend of mine has the tools but never worked on such an "exotic" like the srt, he has a mini garage (the oldies) with plenty of space but that's not comparable to "real stuff" like this :jester:
And i can't help him cause i'm a total noob on the mechanical side.......
Should i take the risk or let the body shop do it? i know i can trust them (experience with 2 more cars) and they are very cheap in comparison to bodyshops.
what do u guys think??? :intrestin

Thanx alot Max and Jason for the support u already given us

If your friend has done frame straightening on a unibody car before then I don't think he'll have any problems. He just needs the normal body specs like he would have on any European car. The SRT isn't hard to work on at all. I find it easier to work on than my old BMW e30's. I hated those damn motors with that STUPID intake manifold hiding everything. Anyway.... if taking the motor out is going to cost a lot... do it yourself. Its not hard at all and only takes time and patience. Plus its a great way for you to learn the ins and outs of the motor. I've never taken out an SRT motor before but I have no worries that I can do it. I had never taken out an SRT tranny before.... but I managed to do that.... while drunk outta my mind :D And the car still runs afterwards!

Have a couple of knowledgeable body people look at the car and give you their opinions. If the frame rails are tweaked so much that it will need other items to be replaced then you are probably better off letting someone else do it. But most of the stuff is just weld in pieces and not hard to replace as long as you can line it up. Just take your time, do it right and you'll have a nice car that you can say you built.

As for the skirt piece..... Don't worry about it. I think I have one laying around and if I don't I KNOW that I have one in Canada.... don't ask *LOL* But one way or another I can get you one. Worst case scenario I can buy one from the dealer in the states and have it sent. I think they run about $75 each new though. One way or another I'll do whatever I can to lend a hand to see another SRT make it into overseas hands :D
