I spent awhile talking to Discount Tire about the tire size. Their computer shows that a 225 would require fender modification. I know that someone else has put 225's on an SRT-4, but I think he used the stock 6" rims. It would be wider on a 7.5" rim. He also believes that I would lose some performance with that wide of a tire. Now I'm sure there will be a flood of replies to this thread saying that that's all BS and they don't know what they're talking about, but I don't want to chance it. I'll let one of you guys experiment with the 225's.
Don't blame ya there
I can always get wider tires next time.
The Spec-2's may be loud, but everything I've read about them has been positive. My car is already very loud, with the 3" exhaust, BOV, and firm motor mounts. What a little more noise, eh?
Gotcha. I just know it would have made a difference in my purchase, so I put it out there FYI. I like engine sounds, etc...but not droning.
The rims are light! Only 13.8 lbs for an 18" wheel.
I wish mine were. Mine are well over 20 lbs. a piece
My next rims (not sure what they will be on though
) will be 17 x widest_possible with Falken Azenis.
