Sorry guys for the long post but i just have to vent...

I moved here from NY just last month in with my parents. They've had steady jobs the past 9 months here while i stayed in NY to finish HS while living with relatives. Well with record breaking hurricane season here, I've applied to atleast 10 places (seriously) including 3 grocery stores, with not a single call back. Ive walked in asking about openings, and i've only gotten a "not till hurricanes are gone". I've been unemployed for about a month and a half now, coming to FL with no money to begin with.

On top of that, i took the semester off and just got accepted to USF for spring 05, leaving me with nothing to do during the day. I'm fortunate enough to wealthy parents but i hate feeling spoiled since as of now they're paying for my car, cell phone, food, and gym membership. On top of that, i plan on flying back up to NY to see my friends along with me and my g/f's year anniversary. I didn't wanna come to this state and leave NY to begin with, and now that i spend atleast 10 hours a day just on this site alone cause i have nothing to do...i really really hate this state.

I don't want to sound like a dick but go back ???? First you came when the jobs are in town. Season is when the jobs open. Season being late october early november, when it starts to get kool out, to Easter. But go to an employment agency, work a labor job moving trees and shit. Offer to take peoples shutters down.

I know it sounds like i'm being a dick, and maybe I am, :jester: but i get way to much of this i just moved here and up north is so much better and this state sucks. Get the F out if its so bad.... Ok i'm done venting. Sorry man but I have 3 people at work that always say NY is better at this and that.

Definately go to an employment agency, worked for me 2 times in the last year and a half. A job will come your way.

Be thankful you got a job...i hate when people come down here and say " oh well up north we did it this way etc.." if you dont like it leave. you said it yourself, you parents are wealthy, well if they are "wealthy" then im sure they can afford a grand for you stay up in new york. im not trying to bust your balls bro, but atleast you have a job, tru its only 6.30, but thats better than a stick in the eye. tough it up, it will get better for sure

I lived in miami on $6.30/hr...if i can do it there you can do it in tampa.

C
yeah cuz there is nothing in tampa to temp you to spend your money gotta go so many miles out to get anything you want instead of going around the corner out here
