Take a look, I was completely taken aback.

Pick the SRT-4, and have a look for yourself. No wonder it costs so much to insur, mostly young drivers buy the car and when you highlight the fact that a majority likely speed in it, it results in the SRT-4 being one of the unsafest cars on the streets today. I was shocked by what I saw.

Sell yours and buy a civic.
hehe, Ive owned two civics, both EK's. Although the new civic are very good, I don't think I could afford it. Personally, I would like to own an F-350 or something of that scale, maybe a old Hummer H1 Alpha.
damn

Hehe that dummy got owned

Cant download video . Oh well .
But lets not confuse bad drivers with bad cars . Sure more of them get totalled than say , civics , because the ratio of sane drivers to maniacs that buy civics is much better than the srt4's . By that logic , the hospital is one of the deadliest places on earth because more people die there than anywhere else .
As for insurance rates , I pay less than 600$ a year . But then I have a good record that goes back for years . If you can develop a good relationship with an agent , and can avoid any payouts & tickets for at least a decade , its possible to get great rates .
I realize thats not possible for some new drivers , but its a damn good reason to behave (within reason) on public roads .
This car has great brakes & has enough power to get out of its own way .
Its built to drive , not to crash . Just like aircraft , the best ones are built to fly , not to crash .
My 2 cents .
I've seen a lot of pictures of some really nasty crashes on here where the driver even rolled and walked away with a few bruises, so I would have to say the car does pretty well in accidents.
Please keep thread titles clean.

Some of us are at work. ;)

At least the wing will survive the crash. :yasum:
You bought a Neon what did you expect?
i totaled my old srt4 going 50mph to a dead stop.airbags didnt go off but i waled away with not a scratch....did pretty well in my eyes.
hahahah....what u expect its a friggin neon

NEOWNED!!!
OMG!! I'm sellin mine ASAP, I'm not driving it ever again. NO testdrives, and you must come with atrailer to tow it home. I don't want anyones death hanging over MY shoulder...

The neon did average :)readclose) in the small car category. No worse than say, a Mazda 3. The Neon did better than the Caviler, Sentra, and Lancer (a.k.a. EVO) Here are the results from the NHTSA of several small cars I put together...

...the offset frontal is of a 2000 neon which doesn't use the same drivetrain and is 300-500lbs lighter. On the side impact they use an 03 but you also have to take in consideration that the side impact standards did change drastically from 1999 when the 2g neon was originally tested to 2005. So im my opinion is if you wanted a better crashing car go guy a VW bug or a Mini Cooper.....

ive owned several 2g neons....i'd rather be in a accident in one than a 1g neon or say a geo metro, miata...and so forth
Why a bug or mini? The Neon does just as well. The only difference in the chart below is the side impact, which the mini and bug were tested with side air bags and the neon was not. If the neon was equipped with side air bags, it would have done just as well as the mini.

thats why i hate the way they rate cars...see me being a 2g neon enthusiast i
KNOW that they started offering side airbags in 01' but all the testing was done on early 1999 released 00s to be used for the entire range. An SRT4 is 300-500lbs heavier than the car tested plus the drivetrains are different which would play into the ratings
