I pulled the tranny out today. The shift selector is sheared off so that's why it wouldn't go into gear. The clutch is also floppy in the center section, you'll have to see what I mean in person. It looks ok and doesn't freely rotate, but it's not going back in, so who cares. I'm trying to decide whether to be brave and try to rebuild it myself or do a pwerks build.

The brown part is where it broke off.

Pulled the whole tranny apart and all the gears and things look really good. I guess I got lucky with the piece of metal from the shift selector falling through all those moving parts and not hurting anything. The only thing I wonder is since I've got it all apart, should I just replace the synchros and bearings or just fix the shift selector, put it back together and hope for the best.

If you're gonna do it, do it right. Might as well replace shit while it's all accessable.

I've found a couple of almost new later model (with LSD) trannys for sale. I might just do that and keep this one as a spare...

In nogales there is a junkyard with engine and tranny. They wanted 400 for the tranny. Out of a 2004 srt. Dont know the milage but it had the vin so carfacx could be used.

Ditch the manual and chuck in a DCR Auto...

Might also want to add some viagra to your tranny fluid to help with your "floppy clutch"

On a serious note, you might want to check the "runout" on the input shaft to see if it got tweaked a little.

It would be cool, but I think I can spend the 9k that would cost in better ways right now. I need to be saving for a motor rebuild for my real car. :readclose
