Yeah that would be smart. God, You're an idiot some times.

But if you all look a little closer. Not a lot of "civic" drivers in the SvsA forum on ClubSi.

I read the whole thread and I think someone just needs to "explain" a few items to help it make sense to that guy.

1.) A stock SRT-4 has 25.1" diameter tires, the one from ATP had 22" slicks. (-3.1" from stock.)

2.) A stock SRT-4 has about 220whp/245ftlbs torque, the ATP one has 236.1whp (+16.1hp from stock)/289.9ftlbs torque (+44.9ftlbs from stock.)

3.) A stock SRT-4 60' as fast as 2.2 seconds [@14.0 1/4 mile], the ATP 60' is 1.8[@12.9 1/4] (0.4 seconds faster.)

Now, look at #1. The stock SRT-4 has larger wheels which should indicate a faster top end. The ATP has a smaller tire which should indicate a lower top end (especially considering the 6200rpm redline. The smaller tires mean less speed at redline.)

Now look at #2. The ATP SRT-4 has a LOT more torque (+15.5%) but not much more HP (+6.8%.) This means it can take off faster, but cannot get up to speed much faster. It has just enough more horsepower to make up for having less time to reach that similar trap speed.

Now look at #3. This again shows the ATP SRT-4 being able to reach 60' faster. You must not think in "linear" thoughts like the guy is on that board. At the beginning, the ATP car is accelerating much faster rate, but slows its "rate of acceleration" as it gets closer to the end of the track. The stock SRT-4 has less of a difference between the "rate of acceleration" from when it starts to when it finishes.

Finishing thoughts. The ATP SRT-4 has a quicker ET, but traps about the same as the stock SRT-4. This is due to a better launch, but less time to make up the difference in speed before getting to the end of the 1/4 mile. It does make up the "difference in speed" in less time due to it having slightly more horsepower. Now if the ATP SRT-4 had the same percentage of gain over the stock SRT-4 with torque AND hp, then the trap speeds would be higher. The hp would have to reach 154.1hp to be at a 15.5% increase like the torque ratings.

Did I make ANY freaking sense? - Sam

PS. When the ATP SRT-4 finished at 102mph, it's speedometer was reading about 114mph! (11.7% or so difference!)

I'm meltdown on ClubSi.

The ClubSi guys are alright, that Wolfsburg guy has always been a tard.

He just doesn't wanna listen, and he's a damn mag-racer, and uses rice math constantly.

how in the hell can you read that forum, its like unorganized...........oh well what can you expect from a civic forum?
SvA has to be one of the most knowledgable forums on the internet. It's a good blend of everything. Most types of cars (FBod's, Mustangs, DSM's, Neons, Vedubs, etc....) are represented thus giving the readers of the board a broader view of the automotive scene. So in conclusion...

SvA>Than You!
