Fuel pump whine and bogging

so a few days ago I started to notice my fuel pump whining really loud. and today I gunned it on the highway and once it hit 5000 RPMs it BOGGED down real bad. I'm assuming my fuel pump is going bad? and if that sounds like the case, is it ok to upgrade it to a 255 or do I need to do a FPR setup as well.

replace the original FPR with a new one, and install a 255lph. better safe than sorry with fuel. if you're planning on going with big turbo or anything get the returnline.
Do I replace the stock FPR with an aeromotive one?
no just replace the pump for now if u go the return line route then u will need a aeromotive regulater
