So yeah. Apparently the techs at the dealerships can't get the '03 PCM to work on my '04. So yeah... it's for sale. I thought I'd let the NW people get a shot at it first, since I'd rather not ship.

Most of the threads I see in the F/S forum are asking around $250. I'd like to get about that much, but I'll negotiate for the NW people.

As for getting it reflashed, the guys at Dodge of Bellevue will do it. They've done a couple now, and they don't have a problem as long as it's going into a 2003.

Why won't it work? I just bought an 03 stage 1 for an 04 and this thread is scary this sh**out of me. I just sold the injectors today. so there goes me and the ablity to sell the 03 kit. Sorry to highjack just a little question.

You're ok... 03 and 04 S1 PCMs are identical. You can ship them to Flight systems (Contact Jim Perry) and they'll flash your VIN for a nominal fee (less than $40 i think). I would also try lying to Dodge of Bellevue and telling them it's an 04 pcm. The flash process is exactly the same. Lot's of guys have done this.

Trust me, I did my homework on this already. Dodge of Bellevue tried and couldn't do it. They have done used 03 to 03 before, but never used 03 to 04. It just wasn't happening. As much as I've read about it on here, I've seen lots of people who it didn't work for (going 03 to 04), and many that it did work for. I'm not sure why this is the case, but I sat there and watched the guys at Dodge of Bellevue, and it just wouldn't take. I may try this Flight Systems place though, it would be worth it just to get this over with and get the damn thing in the car.

The techs I worked with at Bellevue are the same guys that did Nathan's (and I think maybe Wayne's) S1. I handed them the instructions, but it just wasn't working. Anyway, I'll give them a ring tomorrow and see what they can do for me. This has just been a monster PITA. Tacoma Dodge didn't want to do it for warranty reasons then they wanted payment up front. Since the thing in Bellevue, I didn't want to pay in advance. Larson in Puyallup wanted like $85 to flash and another $30 or $40 to "install" it. Anyway, it's just been a pain and I want it to be over. My last car never saw a shop and I installed everything from the clutch to the N2O myself, so I'm new to this 'dealing with people who work on your car' thing. It's annoying.

My two cents:
Techs @ Bremerton Dodge did it for me. 03 will work in an 04 and vice versa. That's all there is to it. I took them the instructions, they didn't even use 'em. I'll look on the receipt-it was about $55-and see if the tech's name is on it. Will post it Wed if I have it.

edit: as I'm leaving for the sandy... uh, everything... of Baghdad (well documented in these forums :cow: ), I think I'm selling S1, S2 WG and Turbo XS HP MBC (never installed, can you believe I've never used it?!?!?). Plus, we need moolah for tha homestead. Anyway, I'm not here to jack the forum from another seller, his should go first to the first buyer, but I didn't see the need for a new thread. S1 + S2 WG + MBC $300. Just PM/email [email protected].
