Well, the check engine light came on this morning when I started it.

Took it to the dealer, and they ran diagnostics. Appears to be the MAP sensor. Mechanic said it was reacting slower than it should, and would have to be replaced.

Of course nobody has parts in stock, so they had to order one from New York. Should be there in 3-4 days.

They reset computer and car is running fine.

I will update after repair, or if it appears to change the way the car runs.

On a humorous note, when I pulled in to the service bay, it looked like I kicked an anthill. Every mechanic, salesman, and secretary came out to look at the car. I even think a few of them called their friends.

When the mechanic came back from the test drive, he looked like this ..:lol:

LOL, man, I wish I could have that reaction pulling into a dealership, I lOVE the attention. Back to the problem, I figured there would be some problems with it, just b/c they seemed rushed to get the car out. Maybe it was just a minor fluke and nobody else will have it. Hopefully, the techs weren't thinking "Crap, they told us to expect this." It sounds like it's a minor problem and I think through the forum, we can keep track of the problems to know if it's an isolated case or an epidemic. I can't wait to get mine. I bet everywhere you go, it turns some heads. If you saw Terminator's post, a guy from the Tamparacing forum actually stopped to take some pictures. It better get here this weekend!

Raptor you and Terminator are like famous people at the dealers up here!! I showed them the pics from you guys and the ones at the auto show and I swear almost every mechanic, manager, sales, EVERYBODY stopped working and came over. Now their in the President's office. You should put a copyright on your pics!!!! This car is more popular then the Viper right now WOW!!! and its not even here for us yet. I can't wait
Side note: SRT-4 pics have been seen at alot of GM and Ford dealers up here and not on any type of dart board!! No I didn't do it.

yeah the site with term's pics on it is getting hit pretty hard. i posted other linked forums to it and it was in the realm of 5000+ hits just from those linked forums... anyways if anyone thinks its a good idea and has a friend good with php we could make a simple little page where people could submit problems.. or if you all think its a good idea i could talk to a friend of mine and have him whip up a real simple page to do that.
let me know (could include name of owner, mileage, problem, time waited for repair etc)

What RPM are you hitting full boost at?
Which dealership did you take it to for service?

Don't think this is a problem to really worry about. I can reproduce the fault, so I know what NOT to do.

I will add more detail after the dealer replaces the MAP sensor to see if it re-occurs.

My car just got out of the dealership yesterday. 80 miles on my car and the C-clip in the powersteering pump broke and the P/S pump shaft came out of the pump and the belt came off. It was replaced the next day. The car now has 550 miles on it and no more probs. but, buying a 1st year car u need to expect some problems, comes w/the territory.

im not here to start anything, i bought my car on wed. and that night making a u-turn the pump went. the car got towed back to the dealership that night, i got my car back around 2 pm thurs. i was surprised that they had the pump in stock b/c i don't know if its the same pump used onthe other neons or if its just to our engine. belive me im not here to start anything, im really enjoying the car. except the sever thunderstors on south fla right now and the car isn't exactly rain friendly if u go to pass somone, i was having traction prob's in 3rd gear.
