:D Yea...we blow away the rice club with stock performance and now the stereo war. Tomorrow, the car will receive its second transformation of a 2000 watt stereo enhancement. The truck area will be relined with the latest sound deadening skins to ensure vibration free bass resornation. The front amp will be replaced with a 800watt 2-channel vice the 600 watt 4-channel.

(Kenwood X520 1000 Watt 2ch)

The rear JLs will be replaced with a new custom ported box and a the latest 12-inch woofers.

 Now, when I roll up to a ricer, I power up the window and crank the stereo to ensure he will not only hear the motor but feel the stereo pulsating through his car. hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I wouldn't touch the stereo...that's just adding weight to the car that you dont need. The stereo in the car from factory is good enough...i wouldn't want to blow my eardrums. Would rather listen to the exaust with the spooling of the turbo in the backround, that's music to my ears. If I want to hear music really loud, i'd just stay home or go to a club or something.

Then again thats just MY opinion and everyone is entitled to their own.

That's one of the nice things about the SRT-4, you can leave the stereo and added weight out to mess with the WRX'en, 350Z, and other cars that claim to be out of it's class, or you can add a lot of stereo equipment and sound deadening, and *still* be faster than the cars that are actually in it's class.

And when you run that dead heat with a gutted, supercharged new Civic SI, and you get together later to talk cars, the converstion will go like this.

Other Car owner, "Yeah, I spent a fortune on power-addrers, and gave up a lot of my superior interior, so now I can keep up with the SRT-4."
You "Yeah, I added a lot of weight so it would sound really good and you wouldn't feel threatened by it's performance. But, it is nice to have an interior..."

Just having fun...

This is one of the worst posts ever. You come on here and brag about how great your stereo is but give no details whatsoever. If someone came on here and said they had a 400hp SRT-4 because they just got a bunch of really good mods, everyone would call BS. Soooooo, let's see some pics and specs.

I've got a stereo setup for sale right now. Had it in my 99 Neon and boy did it weigh it down, looked like I lowered the back end a inch after I installed it. :p My car really turned into a dog after adding all that weight. I'm going to sell my neon for my SRT and decided to either keep the stereo and install it in my SRT or just sell it apart from my car. Here's the setup:

2 Digital Design 9512e's each in a 2.5 cu ft box vented and tuned to 40hz, custom made to fit my Neon's trunk perfectly.
2 JBL BP1200.1's, each put out 1500 watts rms @ 14.2 volts and are Class D amps.
Power Acoustic 2.4 farad digital capacitor.
The subs are getting redone and used to be 9512d's but are getting updated to the 9512e models and are unused and brand new.

I'm either selling this or putting it in my SRT since the SRT has a beefed up alternator compared to my 99 Neon (lights dimmed kinda bad), so it's really tempting, but I don't want to weigh the car down since I'll be wanting to race it. 99 neon has a 90 amp alternator and the SRT has a 160 amp right? Does the SRT have a 60/40 split back seat to? The 60/40 split in my neon made a HUGE difference in db. The highest I hit was a 151db at the dash and that was with the subs firing back. Turn it around to have the subs and vents face into the car and it'd probably hit over a 155db at the dash...very loud :!:
Anyone interested in buying this setup let me know. I payed over 2300 in the first place for the subs, amps, cap, and install and I'm spending a couple more hundred getting subs redone so let me know if anyone's got some offers! I have pics of the setup, give me ur email if your interested and I'll send them.

The current amp is a 160 version. You may have to go with a 200 amp. However, it is a custom job according to the stereo shop.

I blew the last JLs with the Kenwood amp system. I smell some smoke and sure enough, both of them blew with the Kenwood 1000 watt amp. So I had them upgrade to the latest or largest size 12" JLs magnetics (cost was only 179.00 to upgrade with return of the previous version). I have to wait until Friday to have the job completed. I will have the box removed and go with a custom ported box to ensure a more dynamic bass sound.

I was going to use a larger farad but according to these guys a .5 is sufficient. However, the lame Dodge battery will be replace with the latest gel deep cycle battery (the were half the size and red - I didn't get the name). Very expensive compared to the Optima types.

hemi what kinda of reciever are u using? also where them pics so i can c your setup?
Check the pics in the forum image server. It is a Kenwood (Sirrus hookup) MP522 flip face (50W/per ch). The mounted everything behind the rear seats. I not sure it would be good for the summer time.

I am not into DVD or video screens for this type of car so I opted out of this type of headset. I have a 15-inch Panasonic CF-50 laptop mounted in the Quad Ram hemi for DVD movies and wireless Sprint web connection.

I do say Hemi, (and I'm going to get flamed for this) but that is a nice Geo! I never thought you could do anything to those hunchbacks till I saw yours. I wouldn't buy it, but I just wanted to say GJ on it, along with the rest of your cars/trucks/vans. Take some more pictures of your setup in your SRT, I only saw a few compared to your others!

If anything could scare a SRT-4 owner is one of these cars. 300 fwhp (21PSI) 1.3 ltr engine and the car only weighs in around 1775 stock.

Go figure why they discontinued these car. However, the fame lives on in the JWRC, now they are back taking the circuit by storm.

Current output is around 122HP.

I will add some more as the storm blows over. I wanted to wait until Friday after the next mode with the trunk area in adding some body amour for the JL Audio custom box.
