Just bought it and watched it. It's pretty good in my opinion, whether you are for or against the war.
Now for the really weird thing about it: Most of the soldiers in it are from 1 AD over here in the Hessen area! Even saw footage of the tank I used to drive (and shot gunnery with) in there (C24!). Freaky shit. Even saw some guys I knew in there. Bizarre.

Yeah, a BRT is in there too (Santa Claus!), but couldn't tell if it was 1 BDE, 2 BDE, or 3 BDE. That 1SG was right about the PSYOPS guys and the music. They blasted Megadeath and Metallica all throughout Bosnia and Kosovo.
I remember when the new Corrosion of Conformity CD came out when I was in Bosnia, we blasted that shit all over the place. Probably see more 1 AD joes/janes in the "Soundtrack to War" movie.....if the PX will EVER carry that one. And the excuse that AAFES gave in the paper about not showing the movie in the AAFES theatres was bullshit. They NEVER tried to get it. I do believe that if they had emailed Michael Moore, he would have had a truckload of prints shipped over. They never even TRIED. But they KNEW they would have a shitstorm over it in the press if they didn't sell the DVD in the PX's/BX's/NAVEX's all over the planet. They got slammed pretty good on not showing it in the theatres and don't want a repeat.

They should still have it in Hanau. I was in there yesterday and it wasn't really flying off the shelves there. They also had it in Mainz-Kastel.
And Friedberg's little shoppette is a fucking joke. That place is waaay too small to handle to load of soldiers stationed there and they NEVER order anything in sufficient numbers. Fucking AAFES, dumping more money into their Heidelberg and Wiesbaden stores and leaving Friedberg and Giessen as a joke. The places where the majority of the ground-pounders live get shit while the HQs AORs all get nice shit to look good for the brass. I remember when Friedberg AND Giessen had their own Bookmarts. Then they "consolidated" them into a couple of magazine racks in the shoppettes. Same with the sports stores. They stated "they wanted to save money" while at the same time they were building this huge, brand-new Bookmart-coffee shop in Heidelberg.

If you dont like those facts thats fine, but you must acknowledge that they are fact and not opinion. 911 presents the facts with some opinion, use your best judgment to differentiate betwene the two. Just because something is not 100% fact or to your liking (i.e. the bible) doesn't mean that it is invalid.

Well, there are the "big three" that I know of:
K-town, Wurzburg, and Hanau.
Although Graf (Vilseck) has a nice one too. But then again, they HAVE to. It's out in the middle of no-fucking-where Germany close to the CR.
And Moore doesn't hate America, he just hates anyone in power who takes advantage of the system and their position to make more money at other people's expense. Doesn't matter if it's the President or the CEO of a major automobile manufacturer in the states. I take everything with a grain of salt and listen to both sides and form my own damn opinions. But ask the soldiers themselves. Are the soldiers that were in the movie itself demonstrative of the overall feel over there or not? Listening to the ones that came back from that hole in the ground that I have talked to, it pretty much seems like it.

yea i was there for fucking 15 months. i was knee deep in all the fighting the whole time. i got shot in the back of the leg by one of those stupid ass fucking iraqis. that 15 months was the biggest waste of my fucking time. when i was in kosovo and bosnia at least i had a reason. the only reason i had in iraq was to kill people. that is all i did the whole time i was there.

Just an FYI Michael Moore said it himself that this was NOT a true documentary of what happened and that he has no proof of most of what was in his movie.

It was made to stir a response. Enjoy the movie for its entertainment value but nothing more. This should absouletly not be something an intelligent person would want to base thier vote on. Sit down read some books and get educated be a smart voter.

I want to first of all Thank you for your sacrafice and time. Without people like you in the trenches this place would be nothing.

This type of war will not show its fruits until a few years down the road. Iraq truely has the power to become a melting pot for industry and growth. Instead of a few people becoming millionares now thier people have a chance to make a living instead of starving. In the grand scope Iraq is much better of now. A government will take time to form and solidify as a power attempts will be made to debunk it. 30 years of oppression by a cruel dictator and the brain washing of his people is something that will take a long time to fix.

I for one know many Iraqie people who are exstatic that they maybe able to go home to the place where they grew up with out worrying about being killed for thier beliefs. We did a good thing whether you believe in it or not, and believe in the reason we went in.
