does any one have the offical order date yet for the srt-4. i keep calling my dealer and they have no answer. i've read that some of you guys have put money down on the car but how is that possible. the dealers that i have talked to said it is illegal to take money with out pricing and order information. who is telling the truth and who is lying. o yea i live in the chicago area.

Im in the Chicagoland area myself. I just put money down at Napelton Dodge in Oak Lawn. They arent sure of the date yet either, but check on a regular basis. As for it being illegal to take money yet, I have no idea. I have everything we talk/agree on in writing, so I', not worried about getting screwed. I'm also friends with a few people there, so I also have in writing that I will get the car for sticker price!

I dont think there is going to be an "order date" my gut feeling is that these cars are just going to "show" up one day. Chances are within the next month. Word on the street is that every SRT made from now on will be shipped to dealers, so you do the math. My only advice is get a 5 star dealer that is sending someone to the class, keep in mind a dodge dealer that doesnt send someone isnt going to see any SRT's

One last thing, be careful who you give your money to, im fighting with a dealership to get $500 back for a deposit I put down for an SRT-4 that they will never see. They arent a 5 star dealer and they dont know anything about this class.

OK, This is what I know....
The car is being rolled out in phases. The first states to get the car will be Florida and California. (not New York, like somebody posted) Dodge is making the QUALIFIED dealers go to a training seminar. Each dealer needs to send at least one sales person and one technician. After this is complete, the dealer will be allowed to order the SRT-4. The training for Florida and California is January 21st. I live in Delaware and right now I know that Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York will be allowed to order the car at the end of March. Chyrsler employees (my dad is one) will be eligible for the chrysler discount. As we all know, the sticker price is $19,995 and the invoice on the car is $18,602. I am currently talking to a dealer in Florida that will order me a car and I will fly down to get it and drive it home. (I'm not to anxious, am I?) This roll out is being called a "volley-poluzza" (sp?) whatever that means. I don't know anything about the chicago area. One thing I can recomend when trying to get info on the SRT-4 from a dealer is talk straight to the sales manager, NOT a sales person. Only call 5 Star dealers and talk to multiple dealers in you area. If you are unsure about dealers in your area, goto www.dodge.com and goto locate a dealer. Search by city and state. That's all.......... :lol:

I live in Westland MI about 15 min from Detroit and all the dealerships around here are taking deposits. I know a salesman at Crestwood dodge and he told me that each dealership is supposed to get 4 SRT's (Prob BS). I can say this though, if you want one you better put down a deposit right away.

I just drove by Belvidere Neon Plant and seen a transport truck with 11 SRT's loaded and ready to be shipped out. 5 were black, few silver, red, and yellow. So we should start to see them at the dealers by the end of the month!!!!

SRT AVAILABILITY DATE

Part of an email I receiver today from a dealer in the TAMPA BAY AREA. I have been in contact with them since October or so...this is the first time he has committed a time frame.


"Srt 4 will be here between 3 to 6 weeks I will let you know when they come in.

Today I sent out a few emails to several dealers in my area. I received 1 reply stating that they didn't know an exact date but they had received pricing information and they knew they'd be getting 4 units. I live in the Tampa Bay Area and this is the other reply I received from a 5 star local dealer:

THANK YOU FOR THE INQUIRY. THE SRT4 WILL NOT BE OUT UNTIL JULY OR AUGUST. I HOPE THIS ANSWERS ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AT THE PRESENT TIME. IF YOU HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS YOU MAY CONTACT ME BY RESPONDING TO THIS E-MAIL

I know that date is way off from what I've heard on the forums. I think right now all you can do is keep checking with the dealerships. Your guess is as good as mine.

Hey Cali, if you get yours before I get mine you gotta let me take a look. I inquired at the same place you did. Jerry Ulm said they had 4 units arriving sometime.

Well, i called my dealer he said "4 units, and should be getting them around Early Feb" But he said No to reserving, he said not enough information. So, is there any others with this problem.

P.s- I forget which site, but they were rating the top 10 cars, SRT was last, MEANING not alot of die hard fans yet, so much will be availble, so im guessing it will be an easy first month, also said by the delear.

Well, they said I could leave a deposit too. Hopefully I'm the other internet lead they are talking about. I didn't realize the deposit is refundable too. Even a better reason to reserve one. Cali, I'd say your number 1 because I didn't email them until yesterday about it. I'm with you on pumping up the down payment. Although I'd like it now, I would have more saved up if it came out at the end of February. I didn't realize there were so many Tampa people on this forum.

The email stating July or August came from Brandon Dodge. I'm puzzled why they told me this date. If someone is very interested in purchasing a car and if you don't know the real date, why tell them a date so far away. Either they know something that we don't or they were given the wrong information. I'll stick with my first dealership choice. Three to six weeks sounds more believable.

Ill be dropping by this weekend to possiby drop off my $500 and work out some details, but as it looks with my measly DP, (See..i'd still like to keep my rhonda ), I'll prob leave a deposit and set-up a buy for June/July time frame. Since they will have units after the initial 4.

I'll definitely drop by the dealership to get some more information. I want to make sure the deposit is refundable and that I'm not forced to buy one of the first 4 that arrive. For example if none came in the color I wanted. Hopefully, the deposit will give me priority on the first or second black that came in, even if I have to wait a little longer for it. I'd like to find out how many they plan on producing this year too. I've heard 3000, but if thats correct and most places receive 4, there's going to be a shortage. I think 3000 might be the first group to be shipped and depending on the demand, they'll send out more. I'm sure as it gets closer to ship dates, we'll hear more information on the subject. I have a Sentra SE right now, but I'll get rid of it when I get the SRT 4. I don't think I can afford to pay insurance for two cars.

The srt4's are currently being shipped to California and Florida first. Expect to see them at these dealers anytime now. The people that live in the midwest like myself, our dealers won't get them until late February, early March. The reason is that Cali and Florida are warm year round, and the rest of us have to deal with snow. They said the tires are terrible in the snow and wet pavement. Of all the srt4's built, they're have only been 1 or 2 with air bags. They currently build around 20 srt's a day. Expect to see production upped in 3 to 5 weeks, as I'm told.
