SUBJECT: Rapid Response Transmittal Service Action #05-008 REV. A

RE: 2.0L DOHC, 2.4L NA OR 2.4L TURBO ENGINE BENT VALVE

DATE: May 9, 2005

INVOLVED VEHICLES:

2005 (RS) Town & Country/Caravan
2005 (RG) Chrysler Voyager (International Markets)
2005 (PT) PT Cruiser
2005 (PL) Neon
2005 (TJ) Wrangler
2005 (KJ) Liberty
2005 (JR) Sebring Sedan/Convertible/Stratus Sedan

DISCUSSION: A number of 2.0L DOHC, 2.4L naturally aspirated or 2.4L turbo engines may have been built with a bent valve(s). This could result in a vehicle no start, engine misfire or engine noise. If after a road test the conditions are not present, no further action is required. It will be necessary to perform a road test on all the vehicles listed, to determine if an engine replacement is necessary.

If any vehicle(s) have the condition the engine assembly must be replaced.

Damn, glad I bought the first year!!!!05 owners, don't take offense, I'm just poking fun at folks who fear buying the first year:)
as a matter of fact i think i know someone with a 2005 that the engine is ticking.
will they fix it even if we have mods to the 05's
spray a 150 shot through it, it'll straighten out that bent valve.
well taking the car in tomarrow to get a new engine and my synchros replaced
I want a new block too!!! *runs out to bend valves in an 04*
why cant i find that ? its not a recall or anything. i wouldnt post that untill you are sure that it is true.
Please read the first line: it is an internal DCx memo to all dealerships.
03 was the best...woo wooo...wooo

Hemi, good info as usual! U da man!
hemi - you are the man!!!!!!

the coolest thing about recalls, regardless of whats been done mod wise to the car, they have to replace it (unless you already did)

actually blue 04s are the best :)

Ain't that the truth.

Wow, the 05 guys are really getting the shaft. First the bad warranty, then the PCM thing, no Electric Blue Pearl, and now this?

So it's not really a "recall"; more like one of those "secret warranty" replacement deals where they'll try to make you pay for it if they think they can get away with it -- like with the 1st gen head gaskets?

:readclose Read the title of this thread.
i just bought my 05' last week!!! it has 330 miles on it. im going to the dealership tomorrow. so according that note, the dealership drives the car, they listen for engine noise or misfiring during and after driving? and if they hear nothing, they dont have to fix it? what happens if my car blows up on the way home?!!! or 3 days from now? will they still fix it if a bent valve is the problem? cause my car makes no noise at all, idling or driving, cold or warm.
