So, I was driving home last night and the check engine light comes on. The car is running great, so I just don't get it. It was filled, as usual, with Sunoco 94 octane. I checked the OBD and it threw a P0304 code. I restarted the car and the light went away. Then I stopped and 5 Minutes later started it to leave again and the light was back on, this time a p0300 and a p0304. Still running great! Drove it home and tried again this morning - light still on and codes still there. Filled her up on Exxon 93 today and the light shut off when I restarted it. The codes haven't been cleared yet so they are still there but I drove it 30 miles and no engine light.

Should I worry?:crying: I have MSD superconducter wires and stock plugs - 7200 miles on the car. Have had some sort of intermittent vaccuum problem with the Brakes(I think that's what it is - Dodge still hasn't done anything 'bout the brakes(another story that is pissing me off)). Short ram intake, Mopar BOV, motor mounts, stb, catch cans at both locations, and that's about it.

Any suggestions?

Bad gas? Injector?... Wouldn't have posted this but all the threads I see have some sort of noticable misfire with the code. Mine - purrs like a kitten as far as I can feel/hear.

Thank you all.

p0304 means plug #4 is faulty and most likley has carbon tracking on the insulator nearest the electrode. You will see very fine gray lines on the insulator looking like very fine jagged pencil lines drawn on the insulator nearest the electrode.

quick serach, not my information but got that from another thread.

yeah - smooth runing and dissapearing cel - don't get it.

I don't like going in to see the dealer unless absolutely necessary so - any one with similar experiences or wisdom to impart upon me?

Brake problem is EXTREMELY annoying and a little scary.

Intermittently, I go to hit the brakes and the pedal goes almost to the floor before it engages, then locks up the rears.

This happens once a week sometimes, and sometimes 10 times a day.

Two dealers have been dodging the issue since late June.

Oops - didn't mean to hit the send button:

Anyway, to continue:

It seems like the failure occurs most after the turbo/system is in vaccum for a decent period of time Such as on a long trip on the highway , then a stop at an exit. It also occurs occasionally just after I start driving. Another thing I have noticed is that after the car has been sitting and off, when i get in, there is no residual vaccum in the pedal(it is a rock). Before, there would be a couple of pumps left in the pedal, now there are none.

Also, within 600 miles of buying the car(which had 4 miles on it at delivery) the fluid was black and filled with sediment. I finally convinced the second dealer to flush and replace the fluid at 5200 miles and w/in 200 miles it darkened again. The car now has 7500 miles.

They won't do anything mechanical because they say the problem hasn't duplicated itself for them. Two weeks a Chrysler rep stopped out at the dealer to inspect and for the first time they did acknowledge that the darkening fluid is a problem and are going to take samples of the fluid tomorrow.

It seems like a bad check valve or EBD or ABS issue or something to me - but they want to "analyse" the fluid as their first step.

I am beginning to hate Dealers and the way they neglect a serious problem.

I love this car other than its two issues and wish I was having a better experience with Chrysler Corp. and its dealers.:flame:

I get the P0300 code once a week...it's a regular thing. Yes I changed to MSD wires and NGK plugs but it still pops up every now and then...funny thing is the car runs smooth???
I'd insist on more through course of action. YOUR LIFE IS AT RISK!
