I work at a collision repair shop, and was looking through our new Mitchell Ultramate update, which gives part #'s, desc. and pricing, and some other stuff. Anyways, the hood for the SRT-4 lists out at $2935.00!!!!!!!!! Ouch, It may go down later on. The part # is 5029243AA. Turbo shows to be $755.00.

bahahahaha they must be on crack..i'd buy an AFX fiberglass hood before i'd buy a factory hood
@##%# that. does anyone know how much the 2.4L engine is that people swap into 1st gen neons?
well buy yourself a 1st gen Neon..DOHC best and get yourself a Stratus 2.4L DOHC..if you go to the forums at www.Neons.org they have an engine swap section that has a sticky about what you need to know to do this swap. Im a Single cam type of guy..cheaper and easier to work on but if you want a 2.4 thats you...l8r
im just wondering for a friend, i had a 98 SOHC highline. Sold it, ex girl, really bitter traded her truck for it, told her it had issues. or it doesnt like her and misses daddy. But i told her to swap it out for the 2.4, can you buy a srt-4 motor yet.any input is great thx
ACR2NV:
Im leaving @ 3pm to go down to Dunedin, Prolly wont get there till 5am or so. Hopefully I can meet up. I wont have a computer to post on, so Ill need any info if I can meet up on Sat. before I go.
pull out the spark plug wires and look in each spark plug tube if you have oil in any of them go to the dealer and get new spark plug tube O rings which seal the tube from the head. This is a common thing on Neons and cause plugs to foul out. While you are at it if the spark plug wires are stock, change them aswell as the spark plugs (make sure you gap em to .035). Tell me what you find
as i was leaving monarch in florida one of the service guys mentioned the hood costing 2000$, shitty deal for anyone who cracks their hood up :\

Sounds like the retail from MOPAR.

What a joke.
Could be worse, it could cost 10k like the Viper hood does.
