you have to trick the computer by adding a diode since the air coming poast the sensor will be way too rich/untreated that ur cel will come on otherwise.

Well I had the pipe made with a place to screw in the O2 sensor. My buds at the exaust shop they have had good success with people putting a new sensor in the new pipe and letting that sensor get used to the the pipe. And keep the other one in the cat for when I bolt the cat section back up. It looks really clean, and it should be faily easy to switch them out. All they did was put a flange conection instead of the slip joint. then took it out. BTW the bolts holding the pipe to the exaust were on there very good had lots of trouble undoing one of them. Then they made me a new pipe with a hole for an O2 sensor and I was done. I haven't tryed it yet since it would be illegal for them to send a car out without a Cat on it. I don't know how well it runs yet and I don't know if I have to figure out how to trick the computer or not. I'm also interested on the exaust note without the cat. I'll find out more in the next couple of days.

YOur buddys are probly refering to the pre obdii cars which are 96 and bellow.

OBDii cars have a second o2 located behind the main cat. What it does is to check for the health of the cat. If it reads the same thing as the main 02 then it will trigger a cel. It has to read less emittions than the first one.

It's true the OBD II cars are supposed to detect a missing cat, but they are much better at detecting a clogged cat. I don't have an SRT-4 yet *ARGH*, but have successfully run without a cat and with the o2 sensors funtioning without resistors (not diodes) and no CEL light with my 97 OBDII car. The same thing that bites us with using an OEM O2 sensor as an A/F sensor works in our favor in this case.

It's one of those things we're just going to have to try and see what happens. According to OBDII standards, it should not work, but the standards are not meant to check for devious illegals like us...

And, if it does throw a light, and you're going to have a 'delete pipe O2 sensor' anyway, it's a simple matter of placing a resistor in the signal line to drop the voltage output a touch...

About the only good thing about having to wait for a delivery is that the path will be pre-paved by Exhaust Depot and others.... For the record, I'm giving serious consideration to the BOV addtion the way Hector did his, it's a really nice install. Plus, the OEM BOV remains which removes any bogus warranty denial attempts....
