Car doesn't feel the same!

1253 Views 25 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  onthedwnlow
I recently installed an HKS BOV along with the JMB hard pipe. At first, I had a boost leak because the couplers weren't tightened that well, so I fixed that! Here comes the problem, I didn't hear the boost leak anymore, but I've noticed that the car tends to bogg or wants to die off when going from a low RPM to a high RPM. It feels as though it chokes! This happens only when I am in 3rd at a low RPM going into WOT into 4th(even 4th does it at a low RPM going into a higher RPM). I hope anyone of you all could help me out with this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanx in advance! Feel free to ask any questions regarding this matter.

Thanx man for the input. I really have to get a real booost leak test then, but honestly I don't know how to do one :stab: Sad but true!!!!!:crying: I recently started to put my hands on my car and I guess this is part of doing that. Seeing the affects that a modification can do. Any help on this topic guys would be great :readclose ....
if u had a bad boost leak your plugs might be fouled so check those. I hve the hks and I have not encountered that problem.
how low of rpms are you going wot at?
try the search button for "boost leak test" and its real simple to make your own. mine cost 13.50 to make and works well.

That's what I was thinking but I haven't gotten a chance to check them out. I'll be doing that tomorrow and will update then. Thanx for the help!

Around 3500 RPM, once it goes over it starts to bogg.

On one occasion the check engine light came on. I was at a low RPM in 3rd and I WOT into 4th and the car wanted to shut off. I lead off the pedal and a few seconds later the check ingine light came on. That was the only time it appeared.
TPS!! had the same problem

I'm guessing that what it is cause I checked my plugs and they are good. Would u happen to know where I can fix this? Thanx

The TPS is the sensor hooked up to the TB(on the bottom, the top one is the IAC sensor) have your car on and just wiggle the wire. If the car jumps, then its the TPS:readclose
Ok guys...heres the deal...I have tried everything possible to fix this problem but I can't seem to find out the problem. I had one more question for u all..does it matter how i hooked up the T to the BOV and from the throttle body. I didn't splice into the throttle body hose, I just unhooked where the TB goes goes to the wastegate and T'd it from there. Could be the problem or no? Any help would be appreciated. Thanx!
I want to post some pics if what I'm talking about but I cant...can anyone help me put here.
