can i remove the stock manifold w/o having to remove the dp/02housing and all that other shit?

i need to fab up some piping for a manifold and was wondering if i could just remove the bolts that connect the 02 to the manifold, remove the turbo, then pop the bolts off the mani and slide it out the top.

will that work?

any info/tips on how to remove it from up top w/o having to remove all the other stuff would be greatly appreciated.

absolutely...did it several times. it's kind of a bitch to get to a couple of the 02 housing bolts, but once ya get it you can yank that sucker out. I actually wouldn't recommend this to the fullest tho. It becomes a major pain in the ass trying to reatatch your 02 housing/downpipe/exhaust to your manifold when you go to put it back in. It was actually easier for me to just drop the downpipe off, then pull the bolts out of the 02 housing and let it sit there with the 02 sensor still plugged in, then pull the vband clamp off the turbo, unbolt your manifold and pull em apart.

Is it necessarry to remove all the turbo's oil and water hoses to remove the manifold? I was hoping I could leave them in tact and just pop off the metal retaining ring, slide it out, and remove the mani and 02.

Possible?
That's what I did the last couple times I removed mine. You can leave the turbo and all it's lines in the car. Just loosen up the IC clamp so you can wiggle the turbo. Don't wiggle it too much, the oil returnline can come apart if you do that...not very pretty if you ask me!
