hey guys, there is no video in here but anyone on the forums that makes videos should at least answer me this: What type of cam do you have and does it have good night vision....I already have a cam and I have a ton of vids but I want to upgrade and since i mainly do night racing im going to pick one up that can capture some good footage at night...

Cam type:

Night Vision: Good or Bad?

This can be beneficial for all the guys that are about to buy a cam, maybe they will pick a good one that shows more than headlights....

anybody???? just write the type of camera you have and if its got good night vision....come on guys
I appreciate the reply man but that doesnt really address anything that the first post asked for....what type of DVD cam is it? And does it get good picture at night?
I have a sony hc-7 and is great at night, but if you are going to record with nightshot pretty much any camcorder will give you a good quaity. I don't use nightshot since I get a pretty good night quality video. My camcorder records at 2 lux and 0 lux with nightshot.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^thank you
If you really looking for good night video I will suggest sticking with canon or sony. Give a price range and I will help you in finding a good camcorder.
Most Sony Handycams have good night vision..thats what I use.
i have had bad experiences with Sony's Cam Corders, But i have a Hitachi DVD cam and a Panasonic DVD Cam. Those both do ok at night, but really good in the day time. I have videos that i have recorded with both.

^thats with the Hitachi DVD Cam and its an older version. The sound capture on it is VERY VERY nice, picks up everything very clear. Viewing them in Divx format, its REALLY REALLY clear. Ofcourse with that being on streetfire its super compressed.
any good quality cam will yeaild a good noght shoy but you have to set the cam up correctly.. it is just like you a still cam in a way.. you see people using the auto mode and not the manual modes. Auto gets you ok and manual yeilds the best you just need to know how to use it
price range- 400...willing to spend a lil more if its a huge jump in performance...i just wanna be happy with the quality

how do you adjust the manual settings? turn down one quality an up another????
