broken shift selector and now 3rd gear grinds!!???

i broke my shift selector speed shifting from 2 to 3. replaced it with AGP billet shift selector and now i have 3rd ger grinds when i dont puch it hard into gear???? anybody ever have this problem?????? i have never had a single tranny problem til now. i also have ACT 6 puck race disk clutch

when you replaced your shift selector was it physicaly broke or just wore? I have seen this problem before let me know i can give more info then

i am having the same problem! my shift selector was physically broken, and i found the peice that broke off.

Good old 2005 brass shift forks. You probably bent or marred the brass shift fork for the 3rd/4th shift fork assembly. The 05's aren't known for being very beefy.

it was physically broken. the notch that stuck up above the slider was completely broken off.

Seeming that it was physicaly broken their was definately enough force to damage the shift forks. Dont take offence to this but are you 100% shure you got all the metal out of the trans. IE totaly take it apart and or flush with clean fluid or cleaner. Pm me for any other questions

I'm in the same boat. Broken shift selector replaced, tranny flushed. It was grinding when downshift into 3rd at first, now I'm grinding when upshifting. It's gotten to the point where I entirely skip 3rd while driving. Just shift from 2nd to 4th. All other gears work great. I have an 04.

Yeah, If I keep trying to put it in 3rd it will eventualy go in and stay. So anyone fix this yet?

Adjusted my shifter cables AGAIN. This helped to the point where I can upshift but I know this will only work for a while before I have to get tranny work.

I had the same issue. broke the first time and then 3rd and 4th could either not go in or grind really bad. Just broke it again last week (its only been in the car for a week) now I ordered the AGP one and have the trans overhauled just to be safe.
