black housing headlight fitment?

1249 Views 29 Replies 17 Participants Last post by  MattBrown0761
can anyone offer some input on this? just installed the black housing headlights, and it doesn't seem like they fit correctly...or at least the rubber gasket doesn't make a good seal. i tried moving it every which way and it didn't seem to help at all. is this to be expected or did i do something wrong?

....i had to mess with the bumper to get the lights to look right
if it's just the gasket that doesn't seem to sit right, you'll need to take the gaskets off of your stockers and put them on the new ones. I had to do that with mine.

yup, I had to do the same thing. I used the gaskets from the stock headlights, rather than the ones that come with the black housing lights, the stockers are a bit larger and fit much better.

Even after messing with the bumper, they are still off a bit, but oh well.
it is ....after all ......a neon
Yup the gaskets that come with the blackies are a pos..use the stockers

I was told you can't buy them. Look for someone with a totalled SRT that is doing a part out and buy them that way. Or check a junkyard.

x2 with the ebays ones that and I did an extra bead or two around the seal to make sure they would not leak/fog

I was very happy with em
Do you guys have any issues with them fogging up on you?

Just take a little super glue and go around it once in all the cracks/corners just to be safe. I live in VERY rainy WA and mine have not once leaked (ebayones).
I guess I will try it soon as they dry out..
It seems all aftermarket parts have some downside you'll have to live with. Some cosmetic parts have funny fitment.

My drivers side one does at night in the winter. But you live in florida so you shouldn't have to worry about that. The temp has to get colder than 40 for it to do it.
They fit like poop. Im just going to paint my stockers I think

IMHO .... 2 hours of labor and a can of black paint > paying $200+ for black housing headlights that fit like shit
