The battery light on in my recently purchased srt4. Its the battery temp sensor. But the problem is i dont have the stock battery jacket to plug the sensor in to. Anyone know where I can get one of the battery jackets? Thanks.
The sesnor isnt plugged in. Its just hanging around. And I read online that it plugs into the battery jacket. Is there another spot I can plug it into? Also yes i had the battery tested its perfect and so is the alternator.
If you have the sensor and it is attached to a connector with wires to the car, that is all you need. It doesn't need to be in the jacket. It doesn't plug into anything but the electrical connector.
Why would anyone just want a sensor just dangling by the wiring harness ? Find a used battery jacket at the junkyard or on ebay... and yes, an unplugged battery temp sensor (battery jacket) will cause the battery light to come on.
My mistake, but I still personally wouldn't just be okay with a sensor plugged in, whether it needs to be in the jacket or not..might as well do it right and have it in the jacket, not just dangling or hanging around..
