I'm looking for an aftermarket chip for my car. I heard there is one out already but don't know about it. If anyone does hit me up with info.

nope, no chip. The computer needs to be re-flashed or replaced. We are waiting on MOPAR, and I dont think anyone else has a program for it yet.
No chip or reflashing services yet... give it time.

With as sophisticated as the Chrysler ECU code seems to be... do you think the aftermarket will ever "crack it" and be able to offer reflashes? Maybe if they're leaked some internal info...

I know that piggyback controllers will be available soon... they just manipulate the incoming signals to the ECU to achieve the desired ECU responses ( fuel, timing, cutoffs, etc...). WRX crowd uses them with good success... but we also have reflashing available! :D

Yeah, I am sure Howell will make one, they make the best one for the Neon now, just dont take it in with the car for service, I know of a guy who got his $300 AFX ECU reflashed back to stock. Ooops.
i hope you don't have as bad as celicas. They car has been out for 3 years and no one has been able to even touch the codes of it. Also our ecu isn't flashable either

TRD does make a supercharger for your car now though, I saw it at IAS. They are almost done with testing. . .
Im gonna open the computer up and see what it looks like. Maybe a its a pop in type chip like some other cars. Ill check it out and post some pics.
Have fun.
Greddy emanage and then ECU forget the chip.

Hey guys, i has opened the ECU up this morning, after some strenuous hard work of getting it out. Probably harder then installing the ATP downpipe. Anywayz opened it up..low and behold ill post some pics, but it doesnt look modifiable at all. Totally different from what i've seen in the past. Had all this sticky solid crap in there so that the chips in the board cannot be removed. Pretty clever if you ask me, but not good news for the tuner guys i guess. Ill get my pics uploaded soo, so you guys can see it.
That is ok.

There are otherways to overcome that problem.

Jst need to get the STAGE 1 flash program to look at the mapping.

Chrysler has been doing that with all of their ECUs for quite a while, there isn't a Chryser vehicle in production that you can do chip swaps.
ECU

Well the goop/epoxy can be removed without damaging comnonents....the question is..who has the cash to possibly burn an ecu?

Has it never been hacked, because there was no real need to?
I'm very curious to see the #'s/ marking on the major chips in this puppy...that will be the first step.

Yeah, thats what I thought you would run into. Thats why everybody that makes aftermarket map usually flashes the ECU.
