I have seen factory turbocharged cars like the Supra and RX7 experience good performance gains with an aftermarket downpipe. Is there an aftermarket downpipe for the SRT-4 yet? If so, what kind of gains? How much $$$?

Interested for Mopar...

I have the ATP stage 1 kit that includes 3" d/p and cat. It seems to have given it more torque, but not really any more HP. I dragged my buddies SRT from a stop and pulled him about a car and half. And that was right away, after we got going we where locked that far apart. We also dragged a few times from 10-20 mph, and I would almost always put 1-2 cars on him. He is a better driver than me, and when we switched cars, he in my car put 3 cars between me in his car.

So you both are running with the cat and not the race pipe?

That wasn't out when I had my race pipe made and it only cost me $65, But I've been thinking about getting the ATP down pipe w/ cat and the race pipe. It does get a little load for running around town.

I dont have the race pipe, just the cat in its place. It is louder than stock, but certaily liveable. And it snap, crackles, and pops a whole lot more!! How is the response from the car with your local made race pipe? I noticed a big difference in 5th gear at about 70 mph, floor it and it rockets off.....

If you think yours snaps, crackles and pops you should hear mine. The response is smother, and I do think that the turbo spools up alittle quicker. But I would like to tone down the volume a bit for road driving..

I have the ATP downpipe, race pipe and hi-flo cat. The race pipe is great, but loud. The cat is needed for in-town driving, unless you like attracting the local law enforcement.

Anyway, they both make a big difference. I did notice however, that the exhaust manifold is narrower than the downpipe now. It would be nice to have a bigger manifold. I don't know what the technical ramifications of that would be with a turbo, but it seems like it would be good.

When you install the racepipe, it will not be the same as installing the atp setup. The atp is a 3" pipe if i recall which will outflow the stock DP and a racepipe by a long shot if its not a larger diameter. If you just made a piece to replace your stock setup, then i would assum that its only 2.25"? You will notice a big difference with a downpipe on over stock.

WIth my full 3" turbo back system, I put 3 car lengths on my buddys srt. We started in 4th gear at a 4krpm start.

Wouldn't you guys know this already from your "product competition" marketing research?

I know that  but I had it made before one was availible just to tide me over, It is acually a 2 1/2" flex that we used and the race pipe has a slight taped at the rear flange.

And yes I know that the ATP will WAY out flow and perform what I have, but my bud also made mine in an hour so I get what I pay for. (AT least for now  )

Our project manager knows all about the competitive landscape within the aftermarket. I am not the product manager for Mopar. I was just merely asking to see what you guys were using/buying.

Anyone take a Db reading yet of the downpipe with hiflow cat?
