ahhh....thats what i was thinking. sheet steel is pretty easy. just weld in short bursts. if the sheet gets too hot it will warp.

got into the same problem. were did u get the radiator core support from. i need one. and how did it turn out?

never get a used core support, its too big of a pain to drill out the spot rivits.....The rad support is in a bunch of pieces...most of them are 20-30 bucks tops brand new from Dodge.....There is no new support for a srt-4. you have to get a standard neon one and cut the intercooler slots......

what about the bolts that hold on to the intercooler?. the neon rad core support dont have them. will they need to be welded on?

When the shop gave you the estimate of 1200 dollars, that was probably for purchasing a new core support, having it painted, welded in place, and putting your car up on the chief to have the frame aligned in the front. If you just slap a core support on there and bolt everything back together you might not like the outcome when your bumper, hood, and both fenders don't sit right because you were an eighth of an inch off on your measurments

You don't mig or tig sheet metal they would blow right thru it turned all the way down
