While browsing the forums at work, I mixed up the WRX club web address and typed in www.wrxclub.com Don't click it because it's a porn site  and it has pop ups. Thank god no one was walking by.
We all know it's a conspiracy by the man to put the SRT 4 down.

I know this was a joke, but why would you guys hate the WRX?
They are both pretty similar, offering good bang for the buck. Turbo 4s, making arounf the same HP (well, not really).
They both kick ass and you car enthusiasts should love every car!

I don't hate the WRX. I have nothing but love for it. This post was intended to be a humorous poke at the "I own it, so mine is better" crowd. Try not to make it into anything else.

I know, I didn't intend on making yet another pissing match out of this thread.
That's what we have the new forum for.

It's subliminally telling you the WRX will get you more chicks (unless it's a gay porn site, lol).

Eh, wait till the WRX Sti comes out, then tell me you can hang with it.
And I'd rather a Dodge Viper to the WRX. It's not even fair to compare cars with a 10k price difference; though I still stand by the SRT4 being a better deal for the dollar amount.

Take the extra 10 grand you'd spend on the STi and put it in the SRT-4, then we'll see how great they are...until then, you can't compare them. The STi and the Evo are just totally in another group altogether...

...also I thought there was a size restriction on avatars? I mean, that Knight Rider avatar is funny, but damn bro, make that shit smaller....

Unless it was PRO STOCK...waste of time

As long as we're talking about WRXs, the Easystreet WRX pulled a 9 second 1/4 this weekend.

And the Pro Stock MOPAR Neon did a 6.78 seconds (Alderman). The point is? Please, do you wonder why most drag cars are not using FWD or AWD drive units?

However, stock form, not worth it. So far, the Mopar SRT-4 is the best bang for the buck (under 25K).

Coming soon, is the new Cobra which will still rock and hold the title "BEST FOR THE BUCK (30-40K), that includes the new WRX STI version. Nothing like displacement and the Cobra is third in line under the Z06 and the Viper.

If I had a choice between the three 04 models; 04 cobra, 04 WRX STi, and the 04 Mitsu EVO, it would be Cobra for performance.

The group you are referring too is the AWD.

You are right with the extra cash. With that amount, you can outrun both.

Owning a WRX I frequent the clubWRX.net and NASIOC boards. It amuses me to the rivalry between the WRX and SRT-4! It's funny to see some high-and-mighty ones getting knocked down a peg or two when stuff like all the magazine reports or the latest Highway race video comes out. Boy do some of them get defensive! :D

And so many of them say... "wait till the STi...". It's like their hero lingering on the horizon. And 9/10 of them will never have one!
The STi will be in a different class than the WRX or the SRT-4... just like the SRT-4 is in a different class than a regular Neon or the WRX compared to a regular Impreza. And for the $$$ the STi will cost.... think about the mods you could buy!

Yeah but the extra 10k you spend is worth it. Better build quality, 6 speed heavy duty tranny, aero package, sweet ass interior, DCCD, oh and don't forget AWD. Hemi I'm guessing that Pro Stock Neon is a tube frame, purpose built funny car correct? The Easystreet WRX was a factory WRX at one point and it has a stroked 2.0. . A Cobra and a STi ehh? I'd take the STi, it'll handle better plus anywhere that has a real winter, you're not gonna want to drive a RWD hot rod. A Cobra may be faster in a straight line but I'd rather have the STi that'll roll it out in the twisties. Chances are the Cobra is going to cost more, using everyones' favorite argument here, give the STi that extra 4 grand it'll roll the Cobra out.

The title "best bang for the buck for 30-40", where is this, I've never heard of this, sounds kind of like a made up title to me. You may think the "best bang for the buck 20-30k" is the SRT, while I may think it's the WRX, it's all subjective and it's all someone's opinion. The "give the SRT 10k more" argument is getting really old, like I said give me a early 90's Mustang 5.0 and 20 grand and I'll whoop every single SRT here.

Motor Trend will talk about this again when they test out the next Cobra if SVT allows them.

However, not just a straight line course. This is not your average old muscle car. The 03 Cobra was taken to Europe and was tested to it own class of vehicles and was proven to be a better car on the saloom run, race course, straight 1/4 and mile. Time has change and so are the RWD cars.

The same principle applies with any GTS-R racing. The Vipers and the Vettes always beating up on the AWD Audi on the race circuit.

However, with traction in the winter, you are correct. I would prefer a AWD but with real performance I would opt for a RWD car over a AWD.

It is a fact that there is nothing under 25K you going to find that can match it - so far. Even the older WRX is not in the same league for the bang for the buck. If it was, it would of been in my driveway. However, it is not.

If you want to compare WRX WRC car try out the next JWRC car from Suzuki with 260HP at 1900lbs. I would opt for the Suzuki JWRC car over the WRX since it does use the same driveline but much lighter and quicker. Maybe that is why Suzuki won last year JWRC class.

The NOPI race, it was a Neon that won the drag. I didn't see a WRX winning? Why?

I do have a Rustang with more HP than four SRT-4 put together but I still ove the compact. Too bad Ford could not even touch the car with the latest Focus.

This is a pretty stupid arguement since neither car is out yet. I'll throw in my 2 cents anyway. Both cars will beat up on an SRT-4 in any performance category, even a modded one. Cobra will be faster in a straight line and road courses with lots of straights. STi will win in a tight course, auto-x, any incliment weather (where you stupid enough to race), carrying people, etc... Unlike the GTS-R and Audi, the Cobra and STi should weight about the same.
