The output signal is digital data.

The SRT4 FSM describes the PCI Bus as follows:

PROGRAMMABLE COMMUNICATIONS INTERFACE (PCI) BUS

DESCRIPTION

The Programmable Communication Interface Multiplex system (PCI Bus) consist of a single wire. The
Body Control Module (BCM) acts as a splice to connect each module and the Data Link Connector
(DLC) together. Each module is wired in parallel to the data bus through its PCI chip set and uses its ground as the bus reference. The wiring is a minimum 20 gage wire.

OPERATION

Various modules exchange information through a communications port called the PCI Bus. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) transmits the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (Check Engine) On/Off signal and engine RPM on the PCI Bus. The PCM receives the Air Conditioning select input, transaxle gear position inputs over the PCI Bus. The PCM also receives the air conditioning evaporator temperature signal from the PCI Bus.

The following components access or send information on the PCI Bus.
  • Instrument Panel
  • Body Control Module
  • Air Bag System Diagnostic Module
  • Full ATC Display Head (if equipped)
  • ABS Module
  • Transmission Control Module (Neon Automatic Transmission)
  • Powertrain Control Module
  • Travel Module
  • SKIM
PCI bus is pin #38 on PCM connector C1 and pin #2 on the Data Link Connector (ODBII port)

appreciate your post .. PCI BUS communication .. was trying to find a way to have the cluster work properly for ebrake and brake fluid .. this build does not use ABS .. the CAB is not used .. this causes the cluster to not receive message it is online thus causing the red brake light to stay on .. have traced the wiring diagrams .. brake fluid signal goes to PCM .. only way I see it getting to the cluster pin 2 is on the BUS out of pin 38 .. the ebrake goes direct to cluster pin 22 .. thought if I could get the CAB message online I could take the ABS bulb out of the cluster and all would be working properly to the build .. CAB message goes through S104 meeting the C1-38 BUS message to the cluster .. there is a PCM receive C1-25 however Im seeing it comes from the DATA LINK thus thinking that is for scan tool input .. the CAB form pin 5 also goes to the DATA LINK .. any thoughts appreciated
