3" Pipe or 2.5"

My question is what better performance gains can u expect from a turbo back exhaust system (including Cat) in a 2.5" system vs 3" system.

From what I hear the slighly smaller pipe will give better Torque output than a larger diameter?

Also what about upgrades, I am planning on having the Stage 2 kit installed so that means a larger Turbo. So would that mean the 3" is a better pick?

Should answer all your questions.
Good link.

I'm going to wait to see dyno results of the various systems. I know Hector has already done a 3 inch and tested it.

Um, this aint a Honda, I dont think torque will be a problem for us. 8)

Werd to that!...But yeah...my friend who owns a WRX just put a 3" turbo-back system on his car...he has driven his other friends w/ a 2.5" and he says he can notice a difference...dont know if that helps you or not...
Absolutely, positively, without a doubt, 3"! One of the most important things on a turbo car is a large exhaust.
Aye 3" all the way if your making power  GHL is using 3" tubing on mine... Man I can't take the wait.
Wouldn't the three inch make it real loud?
if it does, just get a resonator :)
My dyno results where flaud. I had the WG open a little. Ill get real numbers when my full system is done.

Oh, just so you know, a 2.5" system WILL support about 420HP before it becomes a restriction.

Corky Bells book , mAXIMUm boost has a good chart too:

Definitly go for the 3" as you mod more and more you will regret not having it. With a turbocharged engine you want as big as you can get (dont listen to crap about backpressure). Anyone make a 3.5" ?
From all of my experiences in the past...3" is always better for a turbo car. Let that turbo rip :)
what about a dual 2.5"?
