Hi, I've really been trying to read allot and solve this myself, but I'm out of ideas.

I purchased a DSP from MPx a few weeks back. My car is totally stock, never thrown a code before, has about 88k miles on it.

I installed the 93octane tune, and was really amazed at the increase in performance. I ran several logs, and to my novice eyes it all looks good, knock is all but non existent, and available torque is almost always ahead of desired.

It used to spike 16, and hold 15. Now it spikes 21, and holds 16-18.

For some reason I'm throwing P1188 without the CEL lighting up (seeing it on my Ultragauge), and sometimes I get the CEL too. Seems to happen mostly before the engine gets warmed up.

Any ideas?

For the love of god, go wot! Stop pussy-footing it. You gauge is inaccurate, because you're not holding 18 psi on a stock car, sorry.
who knows...it is wot, I admit I only have the map sensor and the stock gauge to go by. I'll post some logs later. Map pegs at 32psia and falls to around 30.5psia at the 6k shift. I live in Baytown, TX gauge pressure is about 14.7 here near sea level.

I'm not interested in an argument over gauge calibration, just wanted some advice/help diagnosing the code.

Thanks!

WOT isn't really the issue with a P1188, its part throttle. TIP sensor isn't reading the psi that the PCM thinks its suppose to be reading.

Make sure your Red and White line is hooked up and the TIP is seeing exactly what the MAP is.

I thought I addressed this with the last Templates I made...ill have to look.
P1188 is in there but I'm not sure its turned off in every 'Diablo tune'

Sorry for my late response, butyes got it fixed. Mike on the Diablosport forums had me email him my 93 tune, and he modified it and sent it back to me.

Problem has been 100%solved from the moment I loaded up that tune.

Thanks, everyone.

Any CMR tuner can just turn off the Code, I believe that all Mike did.

NOTE: If the car's vac lines are properly set up(aka stock) or the wga isn't cranked as tight as it'll go, p1188 is rarely an issue.

I rarely, if ever, turn this code off in any of my custom tunes or rescales

Mike didn't say what exactly he tweaked to kill the issue. My SRT4 is totally stock.

However....just got my wideband up and running, so all thats about to change! >8)

thats weird the issue with me was i threw this code and getting horrible mpg with stock tune and then when i loaded the 93 tune this code went away. But p0420(no cat code) doesnt come up with stock tune but when i load the 93 tune it comes on.

Just did a boost leak test, and found the TIP solenoid line to the cold side pipe was off. Also discovered a pretty severe intake manifold leak to #4 cylinder. I wonder if that was the actual root cause of the code?

Yes, that was exactly the problem the whole time,,I believe I mentioned that over 2 months ago----->

If the TIP line is off the Cold pipe it also screws with your PCM boost control

I didn't know what you meant by Red, White lines at the time. Looking back, it makes sense.

There are allot of sources of bad info out there! The trick is separating facts.

Ty, again!!
