2004 SRT4.....The Official thread

Well guys a very close Japanese friend of mine came to me last Friday and had a nice discussion about the SRT4. Hes very impressed with the vehicle over all and while we were talking them he also commended DCX's efforts. Keep in mind hes an avid enthusiast who used to have Florida's only Jap spec RX7, owns the only Turbo SR5 Corolla in FL and has a Turbo Caravan slated to run 12s. Back home his garage is filled with a jap spec 1998 Camaro Z28 (but still L hand drive), he did tell me he wanted the SS but not available in Japan. What will be available in Japan this summer as a 2004 model is the SRT4  . He said that a very respected automotive publication got comfirmation from DCX that they will import the SRT4 to Japan in Right hand drive. What does this mean for us? Well for starters a source from Dodge told me that its almost expected that an LSD will be standard mainly because of the volume of cars for the next production run. What reinforces this is the fact that they are going to export them. This means Canada is getting their share, Japan is too which meand England will get some too and we are still the main market. So now that we have established there is an 04 model can we keep this thread on topic only for 04 SRT info please...thanks

Did he go into details about possible specs? I think I need to make a little trip this summer..
im hoping Dodge will do it smart and give them a Stage 3 equipped car with LSD and rate it at "276hp" under the "Gentlemen's pact" the Japs set on themselves  but i wont hold my breath
Moving over to the rumors and speculation section :p
its not a rumor Cali its fact

Screw that! Why do they always get the good stuff?

No offense, being sarcastic. But really, they get all the good toys.
Heh, for the amount of $$$ a SRT-4 will cost in Japan, you could buy 2 here. Di\ont get too pissed off.
I don't understand the SRT-4's production run. Would it be common for 2003 SRT-4s to be sold at the same time 2004 WRX's come out? Because the way it looks up here in NY is that we're not getting s$%t for a couple more months. I don't know why they didn't just call it a 2003.5 SRT-4 to clear alot of things up.

And I find it funny how already DCX knows that Japan, England, Canada, etc are getting a 2004 SRT-4 with the listed specs, when we don't even know what we're getting and when we're getting it [2004]?

I could be wrong, I usually am.
the 2003 SRT4 IS a 2003.5 car BUT i think what Dodge IS going to do is start shipping the 04s after the 03's run out. If you look at how its all playing out warmer climates are getting them first then working towards colder. just my .2
Mmhmm. This could be a longer wait than I expected then.
what are the USDM specs on the 2004 compared to the 2003? Any Difference?
i will post something even if its in Japanese so i can shut Cali up

i dont think they have that restriction anymore as you can tell, the evo and the sti surpass it. I think they removed it last year...besides i think that only applied to vehicles manufactered in japan.

i heard it was never even a real law to begin with. Just a gentlemans agreement between all the car companies. Although, cars have been underrated over there for awhile.
