18X8 just depends on the offest really, like the clearance u need to fit over the stock break set up, depends on if you want more traction ive thought about a half inch to an inch bigger in the front anybody tried this yet?

Why are set on those two sizes?
Idk wanted 18x8.5's to cause they would fill the wheel well and be nice a thick, but I picked up the SCC w. the review on the Mopar Extreme SRT4 and it has 17x8's that look dope too. I want the SSR Comps bc they are beautiful and 18's in them are like 400ish a piece, more reason to get 17's lol

just my 2 cents,
MrG
How big can the off set be?

It was a typo. The SSR Comps on the Extreme SRT-4 are 17x7.5.

You need at LEAST a 35mm offset for a 17x8 or 18x8.5 wheel. Actually that would be the only offset you'd want because if you go with a 32mm it would push the wheel out past the fender. If you go with a 38mm if would put the wheel up against the strut body.
Someone posted a thread pertaining SSR Competitions a while ago. One website claimed to have them in 18x7.5. This would be perfect for our cars, and you could still possibly squeeze some 235's on the front. Here's the link...
