1200 miles in just over 16 hrs

Yea, I was cooking. 8 states in 16 hrs. From Daytona beach to Monroe MI, 16:13. Just got back. I'll post pics as soon as I get my digicam out and after I wake up tomorrow. It's black, and has 1509 miles on the tack (I drove from the dealer to Daytona and hit bike week, then headed home). Along the way, I beat 2 mustangs (early 90's body), a few eclipses (all rice, nothing fun), and a fellow 02 ACR that eventually followed me from Kentucky to Dayton OH (cool guy, We pulled over and I gave him a little ride). Anyway, another SRT has found a good home

Outstanding. Congratulations.

Make sure to wash it first, and clean all those bugs off the intercooler and radiator.

Welcome aboard.

Not to knock you or anything, but you really should wait a little longer before racing on the freeway. Believe me, I've had to resist the urge as well, and it's difficult. I'm at 600 miles right now.

I didn't race at all for the first 500 (ok, I hit 5500 twice, but that's it). I broke it in proper, with varied rpm's and 5th gear runs between 3000 and 4500 (80-110mph) from West Palm to Daytona and a little north. I could feel the thing get stronger.

Now to wash it, install my XM (didn't have the damn adapter I needed) and cut the hood

So, my review...

FAST! This thing pulls like a raped ape. In 5th gear on the highway, you don't need to downshift at all to speed up. Handles very well at speed, and is very stable. In light rain, I noticed no drop in handling (thru mountains in NC!) Seats are very comfy. After 1200 miles, I didn't have any complaint, and i'm 6', 245lbs. Interior is everything I wanted, no more, no less. Stereo sounds great for a stock system. Shifter is notchy, but I like the feel of it.

But, you can induce bad gas milage easily when you mess with the go pedal. When I got into it (for most of my trip) I was running about 20-22mpg. That tank is SMALL also, so I was filling up about every 200 miles to be safe. Oh yea, and every ricer on the planet wants to race. The best part was, only about 3 people knew what the SRT was, and they all waved, smiled, or thumbs up'd me!

Congratulations, Ebbtide. You're officially one of us now (us= "boost junky!") Anyhow, wait till you get home and run around town a bit. I got about 300 miles to a tank on the trip home from the dealership. I am getting about 200 per tank around home!!!! :shock:

just talked to keith, thanks drizze and ebb. they dont have any silver right now as others have said but he said when it gets closed to when i come down he can try and get one allocated for me so i'll have more news on that probably next week around wednesday. still waiting on EP though he doesnt know if the owner will et him but said he's been there for a while so it wouldnt be a big deal

ill keep ya posted, final pickup date for me i would estimate as the weekend of the 22

we'll see

Oh, and i also I'm trying to sell my current car. if you're in the NE Ohio area i have a 2000LX mtx will alloy rims, 40,000 miles, cd player, windows, locks, very clean interior, has some paint damage (vandalizm)
NADA says 8200 (assuming paint is good and everything works) So without fixing the paint prolly like 7 and i have an estimate to fix the paint for around 500. so like 7500 ish with paint fixed. if you're interested email me [email protected] for specifics

know whats funny is i was talking to that ACR guy he lives in ATL and was on his way to go babysit his brothers while his mom went into surgery...im sure that made his trip worthwhile....i'll get him to post here when he returns
