05 3rd gear problem

I've read on here and ppl told me about problems I should look for on my 05 that I got last week and ppl sed that in some 05's the 3rd gear is kinda messed up and doesn't always want to go in. Well I think I got unlucky and got one of those cars. Its not always a problem but sometimes its hard 2 push it into 3rd or it won't go in n I have 2 just left off the clutch n retry. I'm still under warrenty is there anything the dealer can do 2 fit it or would I have 2 pay for a new clutch or something? Thanks everyone. I've been asking so many questions 2 get to know this car the best I can. So thanks for the help everyone!

check this out....

i really don't have this problem BUT... when i'm making like a long round about turn i can't down shift into 3rd.. This ONLY happens when trying make a long right turn.

IT won't go in ... so i tried to rev match. I give more gas then the rpm its supposed to engage at and im able to shift no problem.

so when u can't get it in 3rd. Put the car in neutral rev the rpms pass the point of engagement and try putting it in gear .

PS... depending on the milage of the clutch you shouldn't need to replace it.

I better not need a new clutch haha I just got the car n it only has 19000 miles on it. So there isn't anything the dealer would do 2 fix it,mostly becuz its a "wear" item?

i was having the same problem with my transmission and i thought it was the clutch so i replaced it. but the problem was still there and it got to the point where it will kick it out of 3rd gear while i was driving. i need a brand new tranmission..... $4000 but its good now. i wasnt under warranty and daimler chrysler actually covered $3000 of it so i only threw up 1k.

WOW thats cool and very nice of them. how does it drive now?

i got the same 3rd gear problem

my 3rd gear keeps poping out and wont go in some times and i only have 12,000 miles on it

i was damn lucky to get them to pay for that lol. they sometimes do stuff like that to be nice i guess. but tif ur 3rd gear is popping out and wont go in and you have to let the clutch out and put it back in you might have the same problem. it always maybe a grinding sound when it didnt catch 3rd. now its drives fine. new clutch and tranny did it for me. it just needs some spark p,ugs , wires , and a few belts. hopefully nothing else yet.

ya

same thing with mine keeps poping out of gear and have to let the clutch go and back in then it will go in gear i better take in then

yea take it in for sure. and if you still have ur drivetrain warranty you will be good to go. i thought i still had mine but i was wrong and lucky daimlerchrysler helped me out.

How long is the drivetain warranty good for? i bought this used and dont have a clue how long the warrantys on it are good for

I have this similar thing on my '04, and it really annoys me. Every night on the way home from work I take the same exit, and coming out of the turn in second I'm usually giving it decent gas, and no matter how accurately i shift, it almost always refuses to go in third during that turn, until i straighten the car out.

u think they will give me problem about my performance stuff under the hood they probley say sinse u got all that stuff under the hood we can touch it its no factory

remove what you can and return it back to stock ...then bring it in. I would rather do that than take the chance of having a restricted warranty b/c of laziness.

took to dodge today let see that they say hope they will fix the trans i was thinking about buting a ACT clutch in it too
