Hey, there may have been a thread like this before. If so; it's about time for another.

I think it'd be cool to post pics of cars that bring shame to the sportscar/tuner world. You know the ones. The POS with bad paint, stock wheels, completely stock engine, a big wing, and a shitty muffler...and the guy acts like he's driving a Viper.

My inspiration...
I saw something like a mid-late seventies Dodge Aeries (or something close), like the good old undercover-cop-mobile...all stock. Ugly as sin. Stock exhaust, probably stock engine, stock wheels...and a huge IMPORT wing. Seriously, it was like straight out of the Honda Civic section of the aftermarket catalog. I damn near fell over laughing in the parking lot.

Sadly, I didn't have a camera.

So, keep a camera with you (easier if it's digital); when you see something retarded like that...take a pic. I'd like to see how bad it can get. And this is only cool if they're real cars in your area. We can all go look for shitty cars on the net.

There are alot of good ones at www.riceboypage.com I saw a Neon the other day that had a wing so big, I'm surprised the front end didn't stick up in the air.

Living in the surrounding area of Orlando I see so much rice I have learned to ignore it. It takes something really extreme to catch my attention, worse than the average run of the mill rice.

Aries/Reliant 81-89. Maybe its something else if you are sure that it is from the 70's. There are a whole slew of those riced out on www.cardomain.com and www.sounddomain.com. Of course owning one myself I feel I have to share a few extra things concerning this car, It makes a excellent sleeper

I guess it would be early eighties then. I'm certain that's what it was. Sleepers are cool, but that thing was nothing short of damn funny. I'm familiar with those sites, they're in one of the current mags; either SCC or Mopar Now. I've seen a lot of funny things. But it's amazing what you can find in your own back yard...

While I can't comment on the paint, it's got stock rims, stock engine, a big wing, doesn't even have mufflers and I can bet you most people driving one will act like they have a Viper. Just going by your criteria here...

I wouldn't exactly say the SRT 4 brings shame to the sportscar/tuner world, but I guess the wing is questionable. The last I checked, most new cars come with stock wheels and engine. I'm sure you can stick a Viper badge on the front and no one will know the difference. :wink: The scary thing is there are a bunch of Civic owners out there, who thought they've been driving a (insert good car here).

Here Viper, Viper...I mean, Here SRT 4, SRT 4....

Subaru wised up and got rid of the bug eyes, IMO the 2002-2003 WRX's aren't very good looking but they more than make up for it in the performance department. The 2004's look much better than the current WRX or the SRT, again IMO. I wouldn't exactly call the SRT rice, not yet anyway, although the big wing on the back is somewhat questionable. Rice is a somewhat subjective term but it is generally described as looking fast without being fast. Being that the SRT is somewhat fast it's not rice, not yet. However I am sure in a couple of months we'll being seeing roll cages, harnasses and racing seats in otherwise stock SRT-4's, and that my friends is rice.

Hahaha, touché. Actually, the mail reason why I prefer the SRT to the 2003 WRX is because of the look.

Yea, I wish Dodge would have wised up with the bug eyes. I really can't stand them, oh well. I really don't think we're going to see that many "rice" SRT-4's because of its limited availability. Then again, you never know. All I think I'm going to do is lower its overall stance and get 17" gunmetal racing wheels. (exterior looks) Engine mods are a different story, I'm definitely starting with an LSD, and then go from there.

I think the WRXs are quite good looking, but that's beside the point. Quite a few drivers of some what fast affordable cars like the WRX or SRT-4s always think they are gods gift to driving. In that way both cars bring shame to the tuner world.

I am a below average driver. I will never actually drive the SRT 4, I'll just sit in the driveway contemplating why I was cursed with such bad driving skills. All this waiting is killing me. We haven't had an argumentative and highly opinionated thread in a while. Someone start one of those up to pass the time. Here are some sample topics...

The advantages to having 4 wheels on a car as opposed to having 3.

Funny you say that, obviously I frequent NASIOC (Subaru Board) a lot. Over there from time to time we get these conspiracy theory freaks who will register and then as their first thread they'll start spouting off about how 9-11 was all the government's fault and how charges, not airplanes, brought down the towers. All totally ridiculous. Anyway someone posted this on NASIOC today as a joke, props to MightyWRX02.
