Rota slipstreams wrapped in 235/60/15 M&H DOTs

I picked up a set of Rota Slipstreams in 15x7 with 35mm offset in hopes of not having to use a spacer. They're wrapped in M&H 235/60/15 Street/Strip DOT tires.

They seem to barely clear the spring perches. I can slide a piece of paper in the gap between the tire/perch when the car's full weight is resting on them. The drivers side seems too close, so I might get a 2mm spacer.

They also weigh about 12 lbs. less than my DD wheels. Here's some pics.

Nice!

I've had the 15x7 and 15x8 of the same setup. You're going to see a huge improvement on traction.

It turns out that these tires were way too tall for me. I went to the track and they really slowed me down. My trap speeds were down 5 mph. I could feel it too. It was difficult to get off the line, and I barely made it into 4th gear before going through the traps. Once I was in 4th, it felt sluggish.

Luckily, I was able to sell these to a local. I just picked up a set of 7.5x23x15 M&H full slicks They're definitely not as beefy and don't look as mean, but hopefully they do the job better. I was eager to see what the weight difference would be too. If you saw in the other posts, my DD wheels setup weighs 46 lbs, the beefy tires were 34 lbs., and now these are only 27lbs.
