Ran a smoke test for 15 minutes with my new smoke tester which kicks butt. Tons of smoke. Think Subaru driver vaping amounts of smoke. No leaks so I'm at a loss. I'm pretty sure if the purge valve was stuck open I'd see smoke. So I guess I'll look into HP Tuners to turn the code off.

I repeatedly said the PCM on my brother's car had something wrong as the voltage coming out of it was wrong on one of the connectors. They claimed the wiring harness was messed up. Bought dealer harness, still had the CEL code. Bought another pcm off ebay, flashed, no more code. I have no faith in dealerships... especially dodge. They cannot afford to take the customer's word for it. It has to be done their way or they cannot warranty work. Everything has to be OEM and unmolested. Especially for troubleshooting.
Found out where you inject smoke. Its on the green cap underneath the battery.

on ram forums. I'll figure it out soon!!
This is any repair shop including the dealer. They are just criminals that work out in the open...there should really be a regulatory board to monitor them. Even Firestone tried to weasel out of my lifetime alignment plan by claiming my ball joints are shot (less than 5k on them). This was after 15 mins of prodding underneath trying to find something. That was the best they could muster. Clowns were throwing their whole shoulder into my wheel while it was jacked up to try and prove there's play in the joint. I told them please lower my car immediately.

If they can sell you something they will....if you're in for warranty or something else they don't make tons of money on; they will blame something else

go ahead...change yours too now; again

Replaced the axle and it rides much tighter / smoother now. Can you tell which joint in the video is the bad one?

Carquest / Advance Auto. It had around 20k miles on it. How many miles on your car?
By the way, my new Advance axle was $60 after 25% discount. :-)

That's a lot of miles on a set of (srt-4) axles. No signs of wear? Like wobbling when accelerating in 3rd? Or clicking when turning?

My TrackMotive axles from Rock Auto are junk. One clicks out of the box and the other one slings grease out from the boots. Looking at Gator axles next.

Wow, that axle was in bad shape. Mine had a tiny amount of play (no clunking) and it made it feel like the passenger tire was badly out of balance during cruise between 73-75mph. But I think I caught mine early. It had just over 100k miles on it.

Iv been tuning into this issue you have...

So the only fixes are replace entire evap system or have HP tuners remove the emissions?

What about trying a new PCM?

Good to know; thanks for the feedback. Was just about to order TMs for the PT.

Air conditioning system fixed and charged. With the exception of the shift pivot fork giving me some grief occasionally getting into 1st and reverse, my silver '04 is pretty much buttoned up.

Lent her out for a video:

Brought it home from the shop who's had it for almost 5 weeks, didn't warranty the stuck caliper from 5k miles ago. Got it home from less than 7 miles away and the right front was nearly on fire. I had been smelling brakes for the last 2+ miles but didn't have an option. Resorted to misting water over everything and hoping I didn't cook the bearing or pads, but that's the hottest I've ever had the brakes. Easily 700+ degrees because I've measured 600 and these were definitely hotter and heat soaked that whole corner.
