Finally bought a ball joint tool so I don't have to rent one from AutoZone every time. $73 out the door after 25% off coupon at Harbor Freight. Worked and held up great. I put A LOT of force on that thing.
As you can see in the video it was definitely time! Replaced with a Moog one and it made a huge difference.

Rotated MICHELIN PILOT SPORT AS 3+ tires front-to-back.
They are wearing extremely well with just under 6000 miles on them since they were first installed.
With all the rain we've had this past winter, I'm quite impressed with the grip, both wet and dry.

Nope! And I'm so pissed. I'm going to throw the car on jackstands today and take a look. Maybe I'll get lucky and find something completely obvious?? I get the keys to the new house May 17th if everything goes well. 3 car garage so I get to have the Z06, neon, and my girl's car all in the garage. So many plans for the house. I don't want to be like everyone else and lose interest and ditch the srt. She's a divorce attorney and I'm a water treatment plant operator so I get to keep fast cars Her only concern is the neon isn't safe for children and flat out refuses so I'll probably ditch the corvette for a 7.3 powerstroke or older cummins. Neon isn't worth anything. Same reason why I won't sell my xr600r.

Edit: Feeling like a champ and a moron. Put the car onto jackstands to troubleshoot the ABS light. I took each sensor out of the knuckle and cleaned them and blasted the holes out with air. That did nothing so I decided to look at hitting the electrical connections with contact cleaner. Front passenger side wires rubbed on the tire and destroyed the wires. derp. Soldered, heat shrink, and taped them back together and ABS light is gone. Although now the car is safer to drive I still need to tackle that evap code. Any chance a lose gas tank seal would do it? I feel like if a gas cap could, maybe that white cap/ring could as well. I was able to put at least a 3/4 turn on the white cap that seal's the pump in the tank. Going to inspect the lines(hoses off the canister) back there another day.

So i'm happy to report that i got my car running. Great feeling! I still have quite a bit of parts to go back on the car but at least the motor is running. I ordered a new MPx throttlebody... because i've always wanted a bigger TB on this car and never did it... along with the newer style AGP IAT sensor and kenetic IAT connector. So i have to get that bung welded on when it gets here. Currently no IC pipes are hooked up. I am still trying to massage the stock charge pipe to fit around the DCR k-frame mount. I already got the hot side pipe fixed. It was rubbing the A/C bracket and had a little hole in it. I still need to get the k-frame mount welded to the k-frame. I've ordered a spool of vacuum hose to go ahead and re-do all the lines on the motor, that'll be fun... Other than that, i just need to put the bumper and headlights back in, and put some wheels and tires on it and i should be able to drive it (baby it). I am going to take it super easy for at least the first 2 tanks of fuel, then have the injectors cleaned and tested before i beat on it.

I have heard of that being a potential problem. See where it gets too. Probably happens on cars that have had the fuel pump swapped previously.

Make sure you put some Loctite on the screws for that throttlebody blade. They tend to come out and eat motors.

I would never let my kid sit anywhere else but the middle backseat in the neon, all the wrecks I have seen pictures of the middle backseat is the most unharmed place. I gotta get something more crash friendly just in case as well. The other day this lady in a expedition flew through a red light doing like 60 in a 35 and luckily I always wait a few moments before going on a green or it woulda been lights out for my passenger.

I got pushed onto the left shoulder today in the vette by a mercedes who’s lane ended. The front of their car was at the rear of my door. All they had to do was slow down a little. I wasnt trying to be a dick and not let them in. We were going like 40 all bunched up on a freeway transition. I was lucky the curb ended on my left side and i was able to get over, slammed it in second and get out of the way. At what point are you supposed to let a wreck happen? I know I did the right thing but jeez. So sick of entitled people.

Thanks for reminding me of that. i'll be sure to put some red loctite on those.

Got her back. Full professional detail / paint treatment in a few weeks, although from some angles, you wouldn't know she needs it.

Ordered a pair of those Mk2 RageTek clutch pedal picot thingies. Red's broken, silvers wiggles. I have some chatter when depressing the clutch in 1st or 2nd gear, coupled with a "hard to shift into 1st / reverse" sometimes, so I would imagine the shift fork needs some love next.

Red's clutch is still sitting in it's box. Hopefully I don't need to use it on Silver, and order another one for Red.

Main is still seeping. I don't care. I'm going to drive it.

Is it the front main seal on the crank? Mine is leaking pretty bad. It does not appear to have endplay when the clutch is pressed in. And I have a stiff clutch. Ive been reading about posts about it on the forum. One guy had a cracked oil pump. Another guy said something about a bad oil relief valve on the oil pump causing excess oil pressure. The seal is only like 9 dollars but I need to purchase the tools. Smogging the car is kore important. Ill just have to keep pouring in a quart of oil every 300 miles.
