Default Why do I want e-manage instead of SAFC?

Guys, I will have an AGP GT40 kit installed very soon. I have done some searching here to find my answer, but I can't really find the specific info I am looking for. I know the emanage system is a piggy-back system that allows much more control over the engine than the APEX SAFC allows.

Can someone tell me what I will specifically miss out on by using a SAFC instead of an emanage setup? Will I not be able to fully tune the fuel curve for different RPM ranges? Why do I need a MAP clamp? What problems will I face with this turbo and an SAFC that I could correct with an emanage setup?

Thanks

I was in your dilemma a few weeks ago. I was set on getting the SAFC. I now have the emanage and an E-01 in boxes in my room.

This is what I have been told:
The emanage is practically the same price.
There is alot more adjustment on the emanage. Some people have maxed out the SAFC's ability to add fuel.
The emanage pretty much overrides the computer. You have more control. It works well with the E-01 and a wideband. It can graph out A/F ratios on the E-01 with a wideband (LM-1 for example).
Most people getting 400+ hp are using emanage.
Simply put, I have just heard all this and that it's just better. Hope that helps.
It may be a little more complicating but I like to figure things out.

the profec e01/emanage combo is nice as it deletes the need for a laptop.

I have this set up and love it...I have seen the sAFC and they are nice, with a few other upgrades (injectors) its great for fuel management.

The emanage is nice in that you can control fuel by reading boost (MAP voltage) and Throttle position. It includes a MAP clamp that RPM adjustable. You can control injector duty cycles. Lots of stuff.

The e-01 IS a boost controller so you don't need a profec-B.

The emanage has far more options than the s-afc does, as well as the ability to handle larger injectors that 650cc.

The e-01 can display 3 gauges at once, can boost based on rpm, display realtime info like a/f and egt simultaneously.

it can clamp your map sensor!

bla bla bla, it's just a better combo. thats why it's on my way from exhaust depot right now :-D

Emanage clamps the map.
Not the e01.

I'm in the same situation as essbase. Sounds like the E-manage is the way to go! Anymore info of the pros and cons of both systems would be nice.

yeah that's what I meant, emanage clamps the map.

With the Profec e-01 it attatches via a cable to the emanage, allowing you to program and adjust the emanage via the e-01, no need for a laptop to interface.

Does ne have this combo on stock turbo how much does it help cause I noticed profec b boost runs kind of really unsmooth. Maybe its alot of backpressure I dunno sometimes it does great tho I worry in Wot running around 15 psi spiking down from 18 but tommorow im going to the dyno and gonna get some pulls an see if they can tune it a bit.

well, with the s-afc you have to reprogram and tweak your fuel curve. with the emanage you tell it your injector sizes and it does the fuel curve for you saving you a lot of time. then when its time to boost all you really have to deal with is adding injector duty cycle. get a WB make a run, watch your AFR stop, figure where to add duty, program, repeat.
