Default when tuning a safc 2 which gear do u tune it in....

i have it tuned in third gear at 11.5 from 3000 rpms to 5800 rpm then it drops to 11.2 to 11.3. when i did a 2nd gear wot shift from 3000 to redline my afrs were 11.9 to 12.0 so does 2nd gear matter or just tune it to third gear.

thanks

Default

I tuned in 4th since it's the gear with the most load and the "longest" gear at the track. My 3rd gear would hit in the low to mid 12s, but 4th was in the 11.1-.8 department depending on weather conditions. 1st and 2nd gear will always run leaner than the others untill you go to an SCT or EMS that can change your fueling by gear. The SAFC is pretty linear, so its changes affect all gears.

IMO I would not worry about 1st-2nd gears, and 3rd can run leaner, too. I have personally never had a problem with this.
