Default What's better: Emanage or SAFC?

I was just wondering which is better for horsepower/drivability. It seems like most of the high HP cars are using an SAFC and I was wondering why this might be. I have an emanage/e01 right now and am wondering if I should try a different approach...

I'm not familiar with either of these piggybacks, but from what I understand, the SAFC is much more simple to use, but doesn't have as many features as the E-manage. I believe that the E-manage actually has a way to decrease injector duty cycle without altering the map signal whereas the SAFC can only change injector duty cycle via the map signal. If I'm wrong, someone please inform me.

Have you thought about ptperformance's new fuel tunning computer? Here is a link to it. It looks to be a great unit for our car with more features than the SAFC.
FTM (fuel tuning module) taking pre-orders now GB!!!

The reason why so many people are using SAFCs is because they are pretty cheap and can be had from just about anywhere, especially ebay.

My tuner was cussing out the srt-4 in front of me that had emanage. My car was tuned in a fraction of the time. It has wonderful features and can be adapted for all kinds of other things if you know the voltages, but if and when i add other items ill let them run independant of my fuel control. If you have it and its hooked up use it, no reason to take it out now. I did it for the cheapness.

I have it hooked up, but right now the only thing it's being used for is a digital map clamp and to monitor some things through the e01. I'm switching to RC650's and then I'm gonna try to get it tuned. I can't afford a stand alone so I'm stuck going the piggyback route, but since I'm on this path I'd like to take the best one.

I don't wanna see a tuner cussin out MY car...I might unstrap it and run his ass over! lol j/k

the safc is the most cost effective solution for tuning right now.6 mos from now say the stand alone comes out (even though it wouldnt stand alone, but thats another story) you will only be out 300 bucks for the safc instead of maybe 6 or 7 hundered for the e-manage and still have that STUMBLE because of TOO BIG INJECTORS.the safc still resells for 200 later on. BSBOB just my 02.

LOL the owner wasnt there when it was getting cussed at of course. I dont care if my car was cussed out at because now people cuss at the car when they lose. His car ended up putting more down than mine because i wanted a daily driver tune not a post your graphs tune

Speaking of that stumble...is it just with the emanage and big injectors, or is it with the big injectors and piggybacks in general?

safc is 2 dimensional, the emanage is 3 dimensional. 3 dimensions are better. the safc is cheap and easy to use which is why you see it a lot, that doesn't mean that it's better. an emanage is actually a better unit, it's just more complicated and people don't want to bother to do it, but when it's done right it gives a better tune. i get this question a lot from people and i always tell them to go with the emanage, it's a much better unit. personally i hate the safc on an srt.

Default emanage

(The emanage has an additional injector harness. This harness splices into your injectors. So when the ECU tells the injectors to turn off cause it thinks its at 15psi of boost, though your at 18, the E-manage keeps the ground on the injector and holds it longer to make up for the extra 3PSI of boost. This is the only piggy back that I know of that can do this thus far and this is why I used the emanage vs the other units out there.) exhaust depot website
