Default tuning methanol injection with safc

i have recently put a garrett 60 trim and all supporting mods on my 05 srt, i have a methanol injection kit that i have been wanting to put on in so i can crank the boost on up some more.I have been timid to install the kit cause everybody i have talked to about tuning a methanol injected car with a safc is a nightmare, what i have heard is that you have to turn the fuel pressure up so high that the car wont idle or daily drive good because of having so much fuel pressure, if anybody has tuned a meth injected srt with a safc and has got it to run and idle right please give me some guidance and help with how to tune mine

you dont have to crank up your fuel......

meth meth kit runs just fine and i am putting a 60 trim on my car soon.....

how is it treating you and what are you mods?

safc and meth on the SST v2 was a great combo for me i boost 25 and hold 21 with no knock and my air fuels at 11.5 max.

EDIT: PUt it in make sure its sprying and have it turn on at 5psi or so so when you hit 20 psi on the 60 trim its pumping hard.....it is a great idea just dont let it run low or you might run into problems.

Other than that who ever told you meth is a nightmare is wrong

i don't no much about meth injection so as for as setting it up for when to spray i don't no how to do that, how did you tune your car, just like you would without the methanol?i need some good directions on how to tune it, i have the car tuned good on 21 pounds so if you could tell me how to tune it from there it would be a great help. the car runs strong with the 60 im very happy with it, i just want more thats why im doing the meth, i have the garrett 60 trim with full bolt ons and supporting mods and i have a 62mm throttlebody ported intake manifold 3in turbo back exhaust and a few other things here and there

your setup sounds exactly what mine is going to be.

But meth will cause your air fuels to look richer than they are, because methanol is fuel...

So if you were tuning it i would try and shoot for 11 flat for a good street tune maybe a little more lean but not to much.

there is a boost switch that activates the pump when it gets to a certain psi. you can set this with a bike pump or connecting a LED to the wire to see when the pump kicks on.

BUt if your all tuned well with 21 psi put the pump on and note how the air fuels change...you will see a greater change with jsut meth...i would suggest using just meth too it gives great power and it will still reduce knock.

if you see your airfuels go richer then you can turn up the boost more but i wouldnt pull much more from your AFC it might cause you to knock...

just do it in small changes and you will be fine...meth helps big time with keeping your car reliable and stong.... if it runs low you might blow your engine so keep an eye on the level in the bottle/tank where ever you have your meth.

i am sure there is more i am missing but any more questions?

EDIT: what injectors are you using? you have a return line? scan guage to monitor knock?

thanks for the help im going to try to get the kit on this week and tune it. I am running rc750's, i do have a return line, when i did the build i did the fuel pump bottle neck re-wire, that is some work but it is well worth it and i do not have a scan gauge i wish i did and i will be getting one soon i hope

All Meth does is make you run a bit richer. All that means is pulling a few more % with the SAFC.

Meth is awsome, but when it fails there can be problems if you tune it to the extreme. Thats why he is saying to tune to 11.0 with the meth on, which really means that if the meth were to fail you are still safe running 11.5 to 11.8A/F.

Jay @ N2MB says to start the meth at 75% of the boost your running. Im running 23psi on my big turbo and I have my meth kit turn on at 17psi. what this does is allows the turbo to spool quicker with leaner A/F, then turn on when its about full spool.
