search in the how-to section for map clamp and you'll figure it out, it's pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

search function blows chunks

a map clamp is as what it says.it clamps map voltage.a map sensor converts a pressure reading into a voltage reading that the pcm can read.by "clamping" map voltage you are effectively putting a "gate" at maximum voltage. for example if you had your map clamp set at 4.82 volts then your pcm would see max 18 psi. if you have it set to 3.6 volts the pcm would only see as high as 10 psi.

so by example if you set your clamp at 3.6 volts and you are making 18 psi the pcm will give the amount of fuel and timing calculated for 10 psi.you would be getting more timing and less fuel.

keep in mind that map clamps are not an efficient tuning tools and are not made of high quality products .they get mounted in the engine bay and are not sealed against the elements and vibration will affect them over time and could go bad at any time.i dont like map clamps...never have..never will but that is how it works
