I have a map clamp now, and when the temp changes a few degrees it starts leaning out real bad or getting real rich. It is annoying as the temp varies quite a bit each day.
Wondering if I go with a SAFCII, if it will just do the same thing, or if it will compensate for things like ambient temp.
Is it at least easier to make adjustments on the fly? Now I have to make a run, pull over, pop the hood, adjust, and run again. Usually only 2 runs to get it right. Most days I dont even really hit any boost, but thats because I can only really do it at night without adjusting my tune.
It shouldn't be that bad with a SAFC unless your weather changes drastically. Even running the SAFCII, I only had to make very minor increment changes sitting in the car if the weather got warm or dropped significantly. It should not get out of wack to a point that you actually have to adjust fuel pressure by messing the the regulator.
11.2-11.5 average... Drops to 10 flat towards redline. Sometimes when its hot during the day it will get up to 13.0 and I wont get on it again til its cooler.
I will adjust it down a bit, 11 seems about right. I don't mind making changes, just not twice a day. if the SAFC will hold a bit better I might go that route as I will eventually anyways when I start modding more.
So, a guy out here has a SAFCII, and says he never has to change the settings at all based on outside temp... But he seems like a doushcebag, so I am not sure! How hard would it be to change on a weekly basis?

i never had to change my tune on the safc II, once it was dialed in it was done....PERIOD
What kind of temperature fluctuations do you get on a daily basis wherever you live? Some weeks it will be a low of 55 and a high of 90. But I drive a lot at night, but have to do a few things during the day too.
If I won't have to change the tune every few days like I do with a clamp, I am definitely going this route. Don't HAVE to tune it on a dyno do you?
You could always go with an SCT Flash. Controls everything the factory PCM can control and will make the car faster and safer. Don't forget hiding boost from the map signal also effects the engine timming.
